Charlie Kirk’s producer, Andrew Kolvet, spoke out about the “South Park” episode that featured the late conservative activist, saying Kirk enjoyed being parodied and would have wanted the episode back on air.

The Aug. 6 episode, titled “Got a Nut,” showed Cartman mimicking Kirk’s hairstyle and debating students on politics. After Kirk was tragically killed while speaking at a university on Sept. 10, Comedy Central removed the episode from its regular broadcast lineup, though it is still available for streaming on Paramount+.

Kolvet, who is also a close friend of Kirk, shared on X, “As someone who can speak with some authority on this, Charlie loved that he was featured in ‘South Park.’ He told me many times. He would want the episode back up.”

Before the episode aired, Kirk had expressed that he appreciated being satirized. In an interview with Fox News Digital, he said, “Honestly, my first reaction was that I kinda laughed. It’s kinda funny, and it kinda goes to show the cultural impact and the resonance that our movement has been able to achieve. I look at this as a badge of honor.”

He added, “We as conservatives need to be able to take a joke. We shouldn’t take ourselves so seriously… They’re professional comedians. They’re probably going to roast me, and I think that’s fine. That’s what it’s all about, being in public life and making a difference.”

Kirk even embraced the parody online, updating the profile pictures for “The Charlie Kirk Show” on Instagram and TikTok with a screenshot of Cartman impersonating him. Those images remain on his social media accounts.

This shows that Kirk had a sense of humor about his public image and the attention he received, even from satirical shows like “South Park.” It raises questions about how media should handle posthumous depictions of public figures.
