Charlize Theron, Taron Egerton, and Eric Bana Face Deadly Secrets in ‘Apex’ Trailer
Netflix has released the official trailer for Apex, the upcoming survival action thriller starring Charlize Theron, Taron Egerton, and Eric Bana. The trailer gives a first look at the tense story of a rock climber being hunted in the wild.
According to Netflix, the film follows Sasha, played by Theron, a skilled rock climber who finds herself stalked by a mysterious hunter, portrayed by Egerton. The story is a high-stakes battle of wits and survival, with every moment pushing the characters to their limits.
“It’s a story about survival, strategy, and the will to live,” Theron said during a recent interview about the film.

Apex is directed by Baltasar Kormákur and written by Jeremy Robbins. Theron is also a producer on the project, alongside Dawn Olmstead, AJ Dix, and Beth Kono. Kormákur is producing through RVK Productions, with Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping, and David Ready, along with Ian Bryce and Chernin Entertainment, also involved as producers.
Taron Egerton joined the cast in November 2024, with Eric Bana coming on board in January 2025, according to production announcements. Filming began in February 2025 across Sydney and locations in New South Wales, Australia.
The film is set to debut on Netflix on April 24. With the new trailer now out, fans can expect a tense, adrenaline-filled experience as Sasha fights to survive against a relentless hunter.
The trailer shows thrilling outdoor sequences, cliffside confrontations, and moments that highlight both Theron’s physicality and Egerton’s intense presence. It sets the tone for what looks like one of the most gripping survival thrillers of the year.
