Chris Hemsworth recently shared a special video on social media that Marvel first released in 2022 to celebrate his time as the God of Thunder. But this time, Hemsworth added a personal message, showing just how much the role has meant to him.

“Playing Thor has been one of the greatest honors of my life. For the last 15 years I’ve held Mjolnir and then Stormbreaker as the God of Thunder, but what made it truly special… was sharing it with all of you. Your passion, your cheers, and your love for this character have meant everything to me. Thank you for making my journey through the Marvel Cinematic Universe unforgettable.. Next up, Doomsday!” Hemsworth wrote in his caption.

This post has gotten fans talking. Some believe this might be Hemsworth’s way of saying goodbye, or at least getting ready to wrap things up soon. We do know that he’ll appear again as Thor in Avengers: Doomsday, which is set to come out in theaters on December 18, 2026.

After that, Avengers: Secret Wars is scheduled for the following year, on December 17, 2027. But beyond that, Marvel hasn’t said anything official about what’s next for Thor or for Hemsworth.

Fans are especially curious because Doomsday will also include Loki, and many are hoping for one last big moment between the two brothers on screen. Whether that means a final goodbye or something else is still a mystery. For now, it’s just fun to imagine what Marvel might be planning.

So while we don’t know exactly what comes after Doomsday, Hemsworth’s recent words and past interviews make it clear that if he returns again, he wants something fresh and different. Until then, fans can look forward to seeing him pick up Stormbreaker at least one more time.
