The Comic Gods Gave You Panel Syndicate And You’re Not Using It

I get it. You’d like to get into a different kind of comic but are afraid to spend some money on something that you may hate. Happens to me too. You fear that your hard-earned money will go to waste and you’ll live with regret. Regret, just like the time you thought streaking was a good idea. By the way it isn’t. Nobody wants to see your parts flapping in the wind.

I have a solution for you.

Idea

There is a group of Comic Book Gods who have come together to form an idea.

The idea is simple:

  1. Create good content
  2. Put it up on a website
  3. Give the user the option to pay whatever they want, or the minimum of $.50.

And you know what?

It works and works well.

When people are exposed to something good, they naturally feel obligated to seek out more by the same people.

Panel Syndicate

The comic gods know this and as such created a website with this in mind. Panel Syndicate (as linked to in the name) hosts the work of Brian K. Vaughn, Marcos Martin, Munsta Vicente, and Albert Monteys.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is the who’s who of the comic industry.

  • Brian K. Vaughn – Co-creator of comics like Saga, Y: The Last Man, and United We Stand.
  • Marco Martin – Award winning artist of Daredevil, The Amazing Spider-Man, and Dr. Strange: The Oath.
  • Munsta Vicente – An illustrator with clients the likes of Elle Magazine and Harper Collins.
  • Albert Monteys – His entire career has been nearly devoted to drawing humor comics for El Jeuves.

So then, why do you need to check Panel Syndicate out?

Why?

If the answer isn’t apparent already and aside from the ensemble cast, the books are pay what you want. When you go to the site, and I know you will, don’t just be a douche and take them for $.50. They are worth far more than that. These are people who are trying to bring you some of the best stories money can buy without you actually have to pay retail price. Drop them some money.

After you come to the conclusion that yes, you want to buy some, I would start with The Private Eye. Now, I can’t promise you that you will enjoy the book, although I can as close to promise it as possible but what I can promise is that you will be blown away by the ideas within.

Without giving too much away, let me paint you a picture.

Imagine the world we live it had all its secrets aired out like dirty laundry. The Internet exploded and everything in the “Cloud” was released so that anyone could access it. The government, in an effort to protect themselves and the world, shut down the Internet. Where would you find yourself? How much different would life be for you?

Interesting, I know. From there check out Barrier, Universe, and The Walking Dead: The Alien.

Caution

A word of caution; once you begin reading these stories on Panel Syndicate you will suddenly have the urge to go out and read everything you can by these guys. When you break the bank of those books, you’ll have filled your desire for a different kind of comic without the worry of regret.

If after all of this, you are still questioning whether or not you should, I can’t help you.

Cheers,

Joel
