Silo season 3 puts the Sims family right at the center of Silo 18’s most dangerous changes so far. The new season shows how Robert Sims and Camille Sims are no longer just part of the system, but now key players inside it. Their roles shift after Bernard steps away, with Robert becoming the IT shadow and Camille being chosen by the Algorithm as the new Head of IT. This split forces the family into different directions, especially after Robert and their son Anthony are sent out of the vault while Camille stays behind to serve the system.

This setup creates a tense balance between duty and family. Camille is pulled deeper into her new role inside the silo, while Robert is left to take care of Anthony. That change gives his character a more personal side, something actor Common says fans have only seen in small moments before. He pointed back to an early scene where Robert comforts his son during a blackout, saying it helped show a different layer of the character beyond his job.

Common explained that he wanted more of that human side to come through as the story continues. He said, “We know that he is an enforcer. We know that he is for the safety of the silo… But what about this father? What about this husband? What about this person who does care for the people?” For him, season 3 expands that emotional side in a way that feels natural and earned.

On the other side, Camille’s position becomes more complicated. She is now tied directly to the Algorithm, which controls the silo’s decisions. At the same time, Silo 18 is dealing with the aftermath of a rebellion and the fear of a hidden Safeguard procedure that could wipe out everyone inside the silo. In this unstable world, Camille is forced to work closely with Juliette, who is now seen as a hero but also struggles with memory loss after the events of season 2.

Alexandra Riley, who plays Camille, described the relationship between her character and Juliette as full of tension and mistrust. She explained that manipulation plays a big role in their dynamic. Riley said, “There’s a lot of manipulation happening… there’s gameplaying, there’s manipulation, there’s playing with trust.” She also noted that Juliette is a threat to both Camille and Robert, which makes every interaction more unpredictable.

Riley also enjoyed working through that shifting power dynamic on set, saying the scenes kept evolving in new ways during filming. She added, “We were finding new things and new ways to communicate the power dynamic between them every day on the spot.”

A major theme in season 3 is the introduction of the “Before Times,” which slowly connects the origins of the silo system to the present story. This deeper timeline helps explain how past decisions shaped the world the characters now live in. It also adds pressure, since some secrets are being revealed to the audience before the characters fully understand them.

Common said he chose not to read too deeply into those past events for his role, explaining that Robert Sims would not know that information either. He said this helped him stay connected to the character’s point of view inside the silo, where history is hidden and control of information shapes how people think and act.

As the season moves forward, both actors hinted that the story will continue building toward bigger answers while also keeping emotional character arcs at the center. With Silo already confirmed to conclude with season 4, the events of season 3 set up the final stage of the series in a major way, especially for the Sims family and their place inside Silo 18’s collapsing order.
