Corey Stoll Says His Son Won’t Watch ‘Ant-Man’ Since It Feels Weird Seeing Him as a Villain

Corey Stoll portrayed the character Darren Cross, also known as Yellowjacket, in the ‘Ant-Man.’ Stoll’s character is the CEO of Pym Technologies and becomes obsessed with replicating the Ant-Man technology developed by Dr. Hank Pym (played by Michael Douglas). Cross creates a suit of his own, the Yellowjacket suit, which has similar shrinking abilities to Ant-Man’s suit but with militaristic intentions.

Despite his story being over in ‘Ant-Man’ Stoll reprised his role in the recently released ‘Quantumania’ under a different alias – M.O.D.O.K.

M.O.D.O.K. was highly criticized by fans due to ridiculously low quality of the CGI involved, Stoll’s character also brought nothing to the table except for comedy, which is somewhat contrasting to the source material, in which M.O.D.O.K. in several instances presented quite the real threat.

In his recent interview with People, Stoll explained that his 8-year-old son won’t watch ‘Ant-Man’ franchise since it would be weird to see him as a villain:

He was like, ‘This is weird.’ Seeing me as a bad guy is a little weird for him.

Stoll also explained that he tries to teach his son what his work is all about and explore all the creative aspects of it.

He actually got to see what went into creating the work. That was really important for us, for him to know that I’m not doing this to be famous. It’s not fame for fame’s sake. That fame is a byproduct and something that helps you get more work, but it’s the work that is why I do it and what gives me satisfaction.

Except for his MCU role, Stoll recently appeared in ‘Rebel Moon’ as Sindri, and will voice Lex Luthor in ‘Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths – Part Three’ bounty to be released sometime in 2024.
