Courteney Cox became famous in 1994 when she joined Friends as Monica Geller. She almost played Rachel Green, but instead got the role of Monica, the organized, sarcastic chef who quickly became a fan favorite.

The show ran for ten years and turned Cox into one of the highest-paid actresses on TV. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, she earned $1 million per episode during the final seasons, and syndication brought in millions more.

While starring in Friends, Cox started to make a name for herself in movies. She appeared alongside Jim Carrey in Ace Ventura: Pet Detective and had a guest role on Seinfeld. But her breakout film role came in 1996 with Scream, where she played Gale Weathers, a smart, driven reporter.

Her character became iconic for her clever comebacks and determined personality. On that film set, she met her then-husband, David Arquette. The Scream series became one of the most successful horror franchises, showing Cox could shine outside sitcoms.

After Friends ended in 2004, Cox explored different kinds of roles in film and TV. She starred in movies like 3000 Miles to Graceland, The Shrink Is In, and Zoom, and she voiced a character in Barnyard. On television, she led Dirt, a drama about a tabloid editor, and Cougar Town, a comedy about a woman starting over in her forties.

She earned a Golden Globe nomination for her work on Cougar Town and even directed a few episodes, proving she could succeed behind the camera, too. In the 2010s, Cox expanded into producing and directing. She made her directorial debut with TalhotBlond in 2012, then wrote, directed, and produced Just Before I Go, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival.

She also executive-produced the game show Celebrity Name Game and the documentary series 9 Months with Courteney Cox, exploring real-life stories. She kept acting as well, including returning to her horror roots with Scream 4 and appearing in independent films like Mothers and Daughters.

Recently, Cox has stayed very active. She reunited with her Friends co-stars for Friends: The Reunion in 2021, which earned her an Emmy nomination. She reprised her role as Gale Weathers in the fifth and sixth Scream films (2022–2023), both of which were box office hits.

She also stars in the Starz horror-comedy series Shining Vale, playing a mother trying to keep her family together while dealing with supernatural chaos. In 2023, she received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, celebrating her decades-long career.

At 61, Courteney Cox continues to look stunning, carrying herself with energy, charm, and confidence. She has proven she can take on comedy, drama, and horror equally well, and she remains a versatile and influential figure in Hollywood.

She’s balancing acting, producing, and directing while keeping her signature charisma and style, showing fans that age is no barrier to staying relevant and captivating. From her early days on Friends to her award-winning roles in Scream and her current work on Shining Vale, Cox has built a career full of bold choices and memorable performances.
