Warner Bros. Discovery and DC Studios are in a rough era they’d like to forget as soon as possible, at least regarding their live-action content. However, DC has always been known for terrific animated content since the legendary ‘Batman: The Animated Series.’ In the last 30 years, DC spawned many animated movies and television series. Some of them were absolutely terrific, and the minority of them not so much, but still, DC fans always have a good reason to look forward to upcoming animated content.

Last July, WB and DC officially announced two brand-new animated movies — ‘Watchmen’ and ‘Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths’ — and it’s hard to say which one we’re more looking forward to. Both of these movies will adapt some of the most known storylines that DC Comics ever published. Still, according to some recent reports, it looks like the studio is aware that these storylines are too big to be adapted into just one movie, at least in the latter’s case.

‘Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths’ might not be two, but a three-parter!

Recently, the resume of Mike Milo, the Emmy Award-winning animator who is known for working on many animated DC projects, revealed that some of the upcoming projects Milo will work on are Amazon’s upcoming animated series ‘Batman: Caped Crusader,’ and ‘Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths,’ which is noted as a three-parter on the resume.

DC Officially Announces Two New Animated Movies

Milo previously worked as an animator and/or director on many animated projects, including DC and Max’s original series ‘Harley Quinn,’ as well as many known animated franchises such us ‘Looney Tunes,’ ‘Scooby-Doo,’ and ‘Ben 10.’

‘Crisis on Infinite Earths’ is one of the biggest and most iconic events that ever happened on the pages of DC Comics. The storyline put all the heroes of the Multiverse against the Anti-Monitor. The event ultimately obliterated countless parallel universes and created a new mainstream universe known as New Earth, which lasted until 2011 when it was replaced by Prime Earth in the ‘Flashpoint’ storyline.

‘Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths’ will be the first movie of this kind that will adapt this known storyline. The Arrowverse television franchise adapted the storyline very loosely as a five-part crossover event in 2019. That attempt at adapting the storyline wasn’t very successful, so now we wait to see if an animated movie (or movies) can do better. Spoiler alert: it definitely can.

‘Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths’ is set to arrive sometime next year.
