‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Just Set a Streaming Record Disney+ Can’t Ignore, Sparking Season 4 Rumors
Marvel Television has had a bumpy road on Disney+ over the past few years, with plenty of shows struggling to find consistent footing in a crowded streaming landscape. Against that backdrop, one series has quietly built a very different story, and the numbers behind it are hard to dismiss.
‘Daredevil: Born Again‘ returned for its second season back in March 2026, picking up with Wilson Fisk now firmly in control of New York City as mayor, while Matt Murdock fights back from the shadows to dismantle Fisk’s growing empire. The season brought back key players like Vincent D’Onofrio as Fisk and Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, while also marking the long-awaited return of Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones.
Now, fresh data is confirming just how much of an audience that season pulled in. According to new figures from Luminate, ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Season 2 earned the most streamed minutes of any Disney+ original series in 2026, logging 2.3 billion minutes streamed in the U.S. during the first half of the year. That total puts it ahead of every other original on the platform, including ‘Wonder Man’ at 1.9 billion minutes and ‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians’ Season 2 at 1.8 billion minutes.

Interestingly, the show’s own first season also made an appearance further down that same list, logging 1.3 billion minutes and landing just behind ‘Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord’ Season 1. That means two different seasons of the same series both cracked the platform’s top five most-streamed originals during the same six-month window, a rare feat that speaks to how consistently the show has held audience attention.
What makes the milestone even more notable is how it stacks up against Nielsen’s separate ratings system. Despite topping Luminate’s chart, ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ has never once appeared on Nielsen’s weekly Top 10 originals list across either of its two seasons, going zero-for-17 on that particular measure even as it leads the field elsewhere. The two tracking services often paint different pictures of the streaming landscape, since Luminate and Nielsen pull from separate data sets and methodologies, which helps explain the disconnect between a chart-topping minutes total and a total absence from Nielsen’s weekly rankings.

The Luminate numbers also arrive in the same report that detailed the cancellation of ‘Wonder Man,’ which despite pulling in nearly two billion minutes of watch time still fell short of the retention threshold Disney+ reportedly uses to judge whether a new series is safe from cancellation. That context underscores just how competitive the platform’s original slate has become, and how even a show with billions of streamed minutes can still face an uncertain future if it doesn’t clear the right internal benchmarks.
For ‘Daredevil: Born Again,’ though, the streaming dominance suggests Marvel Television has found a genuine hit on its hands, even if traditional ratings systems haven’t fully caught up to reflect that success. With a third season already reported to be filming, the show’s creative team appears to have plenty of runway to keep building on this momentum heading into the next chapter of Matt Murdock’s story.
