Dario Scardapane Reveals When ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Season 2 Will Premiere
Dario Scardapane, the showrunner behind Daredevil: Born Again, has officially confirmed that the second season of the Marvel series will premiere in March 2026. The new season will have eight episodes and will continue the story of Matt Murdock within the MCU’s Phase Six timeline.
Production for Season 2 began on February 28 ,and wrapped up in early July. The show was filmed under the working title Out the Kitchen 2, with a team of returning directors including Benson, Moorhead, Naim, MacDonald, and Barnes.
Cinematographer Hillary Fyfe Spera also came back from the first season and worked alongside Jeffrey Waldron for several episodes. Fans spotted filming taking place in parts of New York, such as Greenpoint and Chelsea, where Charlie Cox was seen back in his black Daredevil suit.

Writer Justin Wigutow shared that the upcoming season will focus on a larger and more complex picture of New York City. Speaking to Collider, he said, “It’s a very big portrait that we’re telling, a big New York City story, crime, politics. Obviously, we have Mayor Fisk and all of the palace intrigue around him inside City Hall. All of it, I think, is really awesome.”
According to Wigutow, the story will build up to a dramatic face-off between Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk.
“We told this really big story, it got very wide, and then we kind of drive it in the finale to really what matters most… these two characters and the conflict that they’re in,” he said. “How deeply they hate each other, and how deeply they need each other.”
The new season will also see the return of several familiar faces. Deborah Ann Woll is back as Karen Page, Jon Bernthal returns as The Punisher, and Krysten Ritter joins as Jessica Jones. Their comebacks have sparked talk among fans that more of Marvel’s Defenders—like Luke Cage or Iron Fist, might also appear.
Marvel Studios has confirmed that a special Punisher episode, developed during the first season, will be released sometime in 2026 under the Marvel Studios Special Presentations label.
Looking further ahead, Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 is already in the works and is expected to release in March 2027. While Charlie Cox once hinted that the second season might be the show’s last, Marvel Television executive Brad Winderbaum has since confirmed that a third season is moving forward.
Wigutow said the next chapter will head in a different direction from the first two seasons. “It is a continuation, but it is a new direction, and it is leaving a lot of what was built in [Seasons] 1 and 2 behind,” he explained. He also mentioned that the writers’ room for Season 3 will begin meeting soon to shape the future of the story.
It’s exciting to see Daredevil: Born Again finding its place in the larger MCU again while keeping the grounded tone that made the Netflix version so popular. The idea of exploring New York politics under Mayor Fisk sounds promising, and bringing back familiar heroes adds even more excitement. What about you, are you looking forward to the new season?
