David Corenswet and Nicholas Hoult Bring ‘Man of Tomorrow’ to Life in Latest Set Leaks
New set photos from the production of Man of Tomorrow are giving fans an early look at the next chapter of the DC Universe. According to production updates and set coverage reports, David Corenswet and Nicholas Hoult have been spotted filming together while continuing work on the upcoming superhero sequel.
The images show Corenswet back in his role as Superman, also known as Clark Kent, wearing the full costume during filming. The movie follows directly after 2025’s Superman and continues the story as part of James Gunn’s new DC Universe.
Man of Tomorrow is being written and directed by James Gunn and produced under DC Studios alongside Peter Safran. The film expands the world introduced in Superman and brings in a larger conflict that pushes multiple characters into new situations. According to DC Studios information, the story will not only focus on Superman but will also involve Lex Luthor in a major way.
Nicholas Hoult returns as Lex Luthor, and early reports confirm that the character will play a key role in the story. Instead of being a simple villain, Lex is expected to be part of an uneasy partnership with Superman as they face a larger threat.
The main villain of the film is Brainiac, a well-known DC Comics character known for his advanced intelligence and destructive goals. The cast also includes Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Isabela Merced, Frank Grillo, María Gabriela de Faría, Sara Sampaio, and Milly Alcock as Supergirl. Lars Eidinger has been cast as Brainiac, while Aaron Pierre also appears in a currently undisclosed role.
Production on the film began on April 20 and is taking place mainly at Trilith Studios in Georgia. Additional filming has also been reported in the United Kingdom and Cincinnati, Ohio. Some scenes are being shot at Terminal Station in Macon, Georgia, which is being used as a stand-in for the Daily Planet newsroom.
The project is part of Chapter One: Gods and Monsters, the first phase of the new DC Universe. According to earlier comments from James Gunn, development on the sequel began even before the release of Superman in 2025, showing how quickly the studio is building out its shared universe.
Set leaks and production photos have also shown Nicholas Hoult in Lex Luthor’s warsuit. The armor, which is inspired by the classic comic book design, has quickly become a talking point among fans. Early footage from the set shows Hoult moving comfortably in the suit while filming action scenes.
Fans reacting online were surprised by how mobile the suit appears. One viewer commented, “Not as big as I thought but man he moves in it like it’s nothing.” Another added, “Damn he moves around pretty good in that big ass suit.”
The design of the warsuit stays close to its comic book roots, using the familiar green armored look associated with Lex Luthor’s battles against Superman. At the same time, it includes updated details to match the style of the new DC Universe.

Some fans also noticed an ARGUS logo on the armor in the leaked footage. This detail has led to speculation about a possible connection between Lex Luthor and the government agency in the new DCU, although no official explanation has been provided.
With filming still ongoing and more set images expected to appear, Man of Tomorrow is already building strong attention online. The return of Corenswet as Superman and Hoult as Lex Luthor, along with the introduction of Brainiac, signals a major expansion of James Gunn’s DC Universe as it continues to take shape.
