Dormammu Reportedly Set To Return to the MCU With a Twist

‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ was released almost 2 years ago, and this was the character’s last appearance in the MCU with some pretty grave implications. An alternative version of Strange appeared in ‘What If…?’ Season 2 but this character ended in tragedy and I doubt we will see this variant in the upcoming installments.

‘Doctor Strange 3’ hasn’t been officially announced by Marvel Studios yet, but at 2022’s San Diego Comic-Con, Kevin Feige revealed that there’s plenty of room in the release schedule for projects that would be set in Phase 6. I’m not sure how much of that is true considering that MCU has gone down a different path in the last several months.

However, as reported by Marvel Updates, ‘Doctor Strange 3’ is in development and the studio has plans for Dormammu, the notable villain from the franchise.

In ‘Doctor Strange 3’, Dormammu will return in a new form, while Clea’s backstory will be explored in more detail. Marvel Studios aims to have Sam Raimi direct the film, with filming scheduled to start in 2025.

You should as always take these rumors with a grain of salt naturally, as some things don’t really make sense, especially in light of Cumberbatch’s recent comments, that so far he doesn’t know anything about his future in the MCU:

We will see. We will find out. “I’m not sure where he’s been and what he’s been up to and who with, but yeah, I know as little as you.

Raimi is also rumored to direct at least 2 more projects, so yeah…
