Dua Lipa Brings Feathered Fire to Chanel’s Front Row in a Thigh-Split Floral Showstopper

Dua Lipa has never been shy about turning a fashion week front row into a stage of her own. Between her pop stardom and her long-running relationship with Chanel, the singer is one of the house’s most visible faces, and her arrivals are rarely subtle.

That relationship goes back years, from custom Chanel gowns on her concert tours to her role as the face of the brand’s Chanel 25 bag. It also means every time she takes a seat at a Chanel show, fans start wondering which piece she will pick.

This season, Lipa answered that question with a showstopper. She attended Chanel’s Spring/Summer 2027 show at the Grand Palais on Monday, October 5, her first Paris Fashion Week appearance of the season, in a dramatic red feathered ensemble from the house’s Cruise 2026/27 collection.

The outfit is Look 56 from Matthieu Blazy’s Cruise collection, a coordinated sleeveless top and skirt covered in graphic floral embroidery in bright red and pink. The florals are outlined with black coral-like details and gold stitching, while red feathered trims cascade down the center and soft white feathers add texture across the bodice and skirt.

The skirt also features a high slit that reaches the thigh. Lipa paired it with light pink and black two-tone slingbacks with sculptural mushroom-shaped heels, one of the garden-inspired details Blazy has used across his Chanel collections.

She finished the look with a pearl-embellished handbag and gold and diamond jewelry. Her hair was slicked back into a sleek ponytail, and her makeup stayed glowy with soft eyes, rosy blush and pink lips that echoed the floral palette.

Lipa was not the only guest bringing color. Alexa Demie sat in the front row in a shiny red-pink quilted mini skirt suit made from a version of the fabric used on Chanel’s handbags, while Nicole Kidman and her daughter Faith stuck to charcoal.

The front row also included Pedro Pascal, Olivia Wilde and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, in a lineup that felt more like a film festival jury than a fashion crowd. Lipa and Kidman were reportedly dancing in their seats throughout the show.

That energy carried over to a viral moment. Footage from the evening shows Lipa, Pascal, Kidman and Kristen Wiig taking part in a lip-sync video to ADÉLA’s hit ‘Nicole Kidman,’ and the clip has since spread widely online.

The setting made feathers an especially fitting choice. Chanel transformed the Grand Palais into a surreal landscape with almost 100 birds suspended from the ceiling, a huge moon and a multicolored glass floor.

The collection, titled ‘Free as a Bird,’ marked one year since Blazy’s debut at the house. He built it around the different women Gabrielle Chanel became over her life, with tweed, knee-length skirts and plenty of nods to the founder’s archives.

This is not the first time Lipa has leaned into bold fashion for Chanel. At the house’s January couture show, she wore a fiery yellow, black and red skirt suit that one outlet compared to animal print on acid, pulled with her stylist Lorenzo Posocco.

The new look continues that streak, showing a willingness to push the brand’s traditional codes. It also arrives at a moment when she is still riding the success of the ‘Radical Optimism’ era, which wrapped its tour in Mexico City and led to a live album and concert film in May.
