‘Dune’ Star Anya Taylor-Joy Goes Full Gothic Lace at Dior’s Paris Show, a Day After Tiffany’s Star-Studded Dinner

Dior has become one of the most closely watched stops on the Paris Fashion Week calendar since Jonathan Anderson took over. He is the first designer in the house’s history to oversee both its men’s and women’s lines. Each new show now doubles as a front-row fashion event.

Tuesday’s presentation was Anderson’s Spring/Summer 2027 women’s collection. The invitations came with two wénwán walnuts, a nod to the Chinese tradition of hand-rolling walnuts until their shells develop an amber sheen. It echoed the walnuts that appeared on the ceramic plates in his debut womenswear invitations.

One of the guests everyone expected to see was Anya Taylor-Joy. Anya Taylor-Joy’s Dior look for the show was a sheer black lace piece with oversized, floor-length sleeves, styled with a black pencil skirt and a scarf at the neck. She added black court shoes and wore her icy blonde hair in soft waves swept over one shoulder.

The photos show the layered effect clearly. A sheer lace cape falls over a black top, with a dark ruffled neckline and a high black neck scarf framing her face. Beneath it, a knee-length black skirt and pointed heels keep the silhouette sleek.

The look leans into a moody, gothic-romantic palette, and it pairs well with the pale hair. The lace gives it texture and the black keeps it sharp. It’s a look that reads as vintage without feeling costume-like.

Taylor-Joy’s ties to Dior run deep. She became a brand ambassador in October 2021, and Marie Claire noted that she has shape-shifted to fit any era of the atelier. She even wore a custom Dior gown for her wedding in 2023, an ivory-veiled princess dress embroidered with birds and flowers.

Under Anderson, the relationship has continued. At the Toronto International Film Festival last September, she previewed a woven princess-blue gown that later appeared on his spring 2026 runway. Vogue Philippines described that baby-blue crinoline gown as the look that best summed up his new vision.

She has been present at nearly every key moment of Anderson’s tenure. She sat front row at his womenswear debut on October 1, 2025, and at his first couture show alongside Rihanna and Jennifer Lawrence. In March, she arrived at his fall show in a peach slip dress with a single rose in hand.

Each of those looks showed a different side of her style, from equestrian capes to romantic silk. This week’s lace ensemble takes a darker turn. It suggests she is comfortable moving between soft and dramatic moods, depending on the collection.

Tuesday’s show came just one day after she attended the Tiffany & M.A.D. dinner in Paris. She is also a longtime Tiffany ambassador, and the dinner celebrated the house’s partnership with the Musée des Arts Décoratifs to conserve Jean Schlumberger’s archive. Guests included Amanda Seyfried, Adria Arjona, Greta Lee and Diane Kruger.

Moving from a jewelry-house dinner to a couture-house runway in 24 hours shows how packed a fashion week schedule can be. It also shows how much brands value her presence. In a single week, she has become one of the season’s most photographed guests.

Anya wasn’t the only star in attendance. HeadTopics reported that Jennifer Lawrence arrived in a pale blue silk maxi dress with lace detail, and that model Miranda Kerr wore a strappy blue dress with a v-neckline. The publication also described the show as Anderson’s debut women’s collection, which is not accurate, since that took place last October.

Anderson’s Dior journey has moved quickly since then. His first women’s show was for spring 2026, followed by a couture debut in January and a fall 2026 collection held in the Jardin des Tuileries in March. The new spring 2027 presentation is the latest chapter.

Beyond the runway, Taylor-Joy has a busy slate. She is expected to appear as Alia Atreides in ‘Dune: Part Three’, which reaches theaters on December 18. Her fashion moments are also likely to keep building as award season approaches.

For now, the lace look is the latest proof of how well she understands a designer’s mood. It’s dramatic without being loud, and it fits Anderson’s romantic, slightly eccentric vision. That may be why she remains one of Dior’s most reliable front-row faces.
