‘Dutton Ranch’ Reaches Huge Viewership Milestone as Fans Keep Tuning In
Dutton Ranch, the new Yellowstone spin-off focusing on Rip Wheeler and Beth Dutton, has reached a major streaming milestone. According to Paramount, the series pulled in around 12.9 million global views in its first week. That makes it the biggest debut for an original series on Paramount+ since 1923, another show set in the Yellowstone universe.
The strong launch also pushed Dutton Ranch to the top of TV streaming charts for the week of May 11, based on early data reported by the network. Paramount added that the show delivered the biggest cable series premiere since 2023, even outperforming previous streaming records set by other recent titles on the platform.
Cole Hauser, who plays Rip Wheeler, reacted to the success on social media. He thanked fans for their support, saying, “Thank you to all the fans that have been around from the ground up. And to all you new fans for making this the most successful show on @paramountplus ever! Let’s keep @duttonranch rollin!!” The message quickly spread among fans of the franchise, many of whom have followed the Dutton family story for years.
The series continues the story of Rip and Beth as they try to build a new life on a ranch in Texas. But things are already far from peaceful. In recent episodes, the ranch faces a serious crisis when the cattle become infected with a rare outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease. The situation forces Rip and his team into a difficult and emotional decision, as they are left with no choice but to put down the herd.
The growing pressure raises the stakes for the couple, who are now facing the possibility of losing everything before their new life even properly begins. The next episodes are expected to show whether they can save the ranch or are forced into another major turning point.
Series director Christina Alexandra Voros spoke about the tone of the show in an interview with Esquire US. She explained that the story starts with something Rip and Beth have never really had before: peace. She said, “It doesn’t take long for us to realize that these are not people that peace seeks out. They’re warriors, soulmates, criminals, and all these things that peace isn’t synonymous with. You can’t imagine them sustaining because they are the kind of energetic force that draws wars to their doorstep.”
Even with the chaos unfolding in the story, the early numbers show that audiences are strongly connected to the characters and the world of the Dutton family. The franchise continues to prove its popularity across streaming platforms, with each new series building on the success of the last.

For now, Dutton Ranch stands as another strong chapter in the expanding Yellowstone universe, with viewers clearly eager to follow Rip and Beth wherever their story leads next.
