Elizabeth Hurley (60) Revives Her Iconic Versace Met Gala Dress Nearly Three Decades Later
Elizabeth Hurley recently reminded fans why one of her most famous fashion moments is still talked about today. The actress and model decided to wear the same black Versace gown she first showed at the 1999 Met Gala. Now 60 years old, she brought the dress back during a trip to India and shared the moment with her followers online.
The gown is known for its bold design. It features a high slit, a deep neckline, and colorful pink and orange beadwork across the front. Hurley posted photos on Instagram showing a side-by-side comparison of the dress from 1999 and from her recent appearance.
In her caption, she explained why the outfit means so much to her. “Viva Versace! For this weekend’s adventure in India, I dug into my archives and unearthed one of my favourite pieces, which I last wore to the Met Gala in 1999,” she wrote. “27 years may have passed, but some loves never fade.”
The actress also shared how much the country means to her in another update on social media. “India has been a pivotal part of my life for over 20 years, and I cherish every moment in this magnificent country,” she wrote. “What a magical first night back in paradise, reuniting with some of my favorite people on the planet.”
Her post quickly drew attention from people close to her. Her son, Damian Hurley, and her partner, singer Billy Ray Cyrus, both left supportive messages in the comments. Damian later spoke about the relationship during an interview with The Standard, where he described Cyrus as someone he enjoys being around.
He said the singer is “a very sweet boyfriend who I adore.” Even though he supports his mother, Damian admitted that the attention around their family can sometimes feel overwhelming.
During the same interview, he explained that he occasionally steps away from social media for his own peace of mind. “Whenever I use my phone, it is now flooded with so much stuff about all of us, the second I turn it on, which I found very strange and upsetting,” he said.
“When I need to, I’m chronically offline. I delete Instagram for long chunks of time because it would be appalling to ever let that influence real life.” Hurley and Cyrus first made their relationship public in a joint Easter post in 2025.
The two had originally met while working together on a holiday film project in 2022. Their romance reportedly began later, after the singer finalized his divorce in 2024. Both come from well-known families. Cyrus is the father of six children, including pop star Miley Cyrus. Hurley’s son Damian is the child of the late film producer Steve Bing.
Outside of her personal life, Hurley continues to stay active in business and entertainment. She runs her swimwear brand Elizabeth Hurley Beach, which recently launched new designs for the summer season. She is also known for her long-running work supporting breast cancer awareness as a global ambassador.
She recently appeared in the 2024 thriller Strictly Confidential, a film written and directed by her son Damian. The project gained attention for its moody style and marked an important creative collaboration between the two.
Meanwhile, Billy Ray Cyrus remains busy with his music career and upcoming live performances. He has also started exploring film collaborations while continuing to focus on family life.
