‘Emily in Paris’ Ending Confirmed: Lily Collins Shares Timeline for the Finale

Netflix has confirmed that Emily in Paris will officially end with its sixth season, and production has now begun in Greece and Monaco. The news was first shared on Thursday, with cast and creators revealing that the upcoming season will serve as the final chapter of the hit rom-com series.

According to Netflix, filming for Season 6 started the same day the announcement was made. The series, led by Lily Collins and created by Darren Star, will move its story beyond Paris once again, with new filming locations including Greece and Monaco. This continues the show’s tradition of sending Emily Cooper across Europe, after earlier seasons featured Italy, Rome, Venice, and other popular destinations.

Creator Darren Star confirmed the ending in a statement shared through Netflix. He said, “Making Emily in Paris with this extraordinary cast and crew has been the trip of a lifetime.” He added that the final season is a way to thank the fans who have supported the show since its debut in 2020.

Star also said, “As we embark on the final season, I am so grateful to Netflix, Paramount and, most importantly, the fans who have taken this incredible journey with us. We can’t wait to share this last chapter with you.”

Lily Collins also appeared in a video message shared on social media, where she confirmed that Season 6 would be the end of Emily’s story. She said, “After six unforgettable years of playing Emily Cooper, I’m here to share that this upcoming sixth season will be our final.” Collins added that the cast and crew are working hard to make the farewell season special for fans.

She also told viewers, “Our entire cast and crew are pouring our hearts into making this a fantastic farewell season, which we’re now filming. I can’t wait for all the magic ahead.”

The announcement comes after Season 5 ended with Emily’s life shifting again, this time in Italy, and teasing a possible new direction for her future in Greece. The final moments of the season suggested unfinished relationships and emotional changes, including a note from Gabriel inviting Emily to meet him in Greece.

While plot details for Season 6 are still being kept secret, Darren Star previously hinted that story ideas are still evolving and not fully locked in yet.

With filming now underway, Emily in Paris is preparing to wrap up its global romantic journey, closing out six seasons of fashion, relationships, and travel-driven drama. Fans can expect the final season to bring closure to Emily’s story while continuing the show’s signature mix of romance and international settings.
