Episode 7 of Euphoria Season 3, titled “Rain or Shine,” has become the highest rated episode of the season so far on IMDb. The information comes from IMDb user ratings.

The episode currently holds a rating of 8.1, which places it above all other episodes in Season 3. Even though it is the strongest entry of the season, the overall rating trend for Season 3 remains lower compared to earlier seasons. Season 3 is averaging around 6.9, while Season 2 sits much higher at 8.6 and Season 1 at 8.2, based on IMDb averages.

The episode itself delivers a lot of intense story moments and major character developments. It continues the ongoing chaos surrounding Rue Bennett, played by Zendaya, who once again finds herself in extreme danger by the end of the episode. Her storyline has been full of close calls this season, and this episode pushes her into another life-threatening situation tied to cartel activity.

At the same time, other characters are pulled deeper into violence and emotional collapse. Faye, played by Chloe Cherry, becomes a key turning point in the episode after she flips on Rue during a tense situation, screaming and exposing what is happening. This leads to everything spiraling out of control at a critical moment.

One of the biggest shocks of the episode is the fate of Nate Jacobs, played by Jacob Elordi. The character, once known for his aggressive and controlling personality in earlier seasons, is shown in a very different state this season. He is weakened and trapped due to a debt situation involving loan sharks. In the episode, Nate is buried in a shallow grave with only a small air vent, while Cassie, played by Sydney Sweeney, is forced into a desperate race to save him.

Cassie’s attempts to rescue Nate involve dealing with multiple dangerous people and complicated choices. She reaches out to Maddy, played by Alexa Demie, who then connects with Alamo, played by Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje. This chain of events leads to violence at the drop site, including a fatal shooting that ends part of the standoff. However, even after Cassie manages to reach Nate, a rattlesnake bite through the vent seals his fate, making the rescue effort meaningless.

The episode also spends time exploring Cassie’s unstable situation outside of the main conflict. After losing her job on “L.A. Nights,” she tries to rebuild her public image and income. This leads her into a risky plan involving Dylan Reed, played by Homer Gere, where she manipulates a situation to boost her online presence. The story shows how far she is willing to go to regain control of her life.

Another important part of the episode is a flashback focused on Ali, played by Colman Domingo. The scene, narrated through Rue’s perspective, shows Ali’s past struggles with addiction and his path toward sobriety. It adds more depth to his role as Rue’s mentor and support system, especially as Rue begins to show signs of a spiritual awakening.

Rue herself becomes more unpredictable in this episode. She believes she has received a divine message after a series of intense experiences, including surviving danger and seeing symbolic signs. She even tells Ali, “I heard your cries, I feel your pain; have faith and I will take you from Egypt and I will lead you to the Promised Land.” Her behavior becomes more extreme as she gets involved in dangerous double-crossing between rival criminal groups.

As the episode ends, Rue is once again in serious danger after a betrayal is exposed during a cartel-related scheme. The situation escalates quickly, leaving her fate uncertain heading into the final episode.

The Season 3 finale of Euphoria is set to air this Sunday, and expectations are high after the events of “Rain or Shine.”
