‘Euphoria’ Star Sydney Sweeney Sparkles in Vintage Archival Armani at the Venice Film Festival’s Beauty Dinner

Fashion moments at the Venice Film Festival have a way of overshadowing even the films themselves, with the annual event turning into one of the year’s biggest style showcases for A-listers looking to make a statement. This year’s festival has been no exception, and one of its most talked-about red carpet arrivals came courtesy of an actress who’s become a fixture of the event.

Sydney Sweeney has spent this year’s festival building a string of standout looks, from a sheer lace Georges Chakra halter top paired with tailored Bermuda shorts upon her arrival to a striking white-hot minidress worn during another outing around the city. Sweeney made a dazzling entrance at the Armani Beauty dinner in Venice on September 3, accompanied by her boyfriend, music executive Scooter Braun. She wore a sheer, backless dress sourced from Raffe Vintage that originally debuted on the runway as part of Giorgio Armani’s fall 2000 collection, covered in silver sequins and featuring a small rosette appliqué at the shoulder.

Sweeney styled her long blonde hair in loose waves for the event, opting for a makeup look built around winged eyeliner, rosy blush and a pink-nude lip that kept the overall focus on the dress itself. The archival find fit naturally into Sweeney’s role at this year’s festival, where she’s attending as an ambassador for Armani Beauty, which is serving as the official beauty sponsor of the Venice International Film Festival for the ninth consecutive year.

That sponsorship role placed Sweeney alongside a lineup of fellow stars at the dinner, held at Giardini Reali in Venice. Jonathan Bailey, the Giorgio Armani Global Fragrance Ambassador, and Nicholas Galitzine, representing Emporio Armani as its global fragrance ambassador, also attended, alongside model Vittoria Ceretti, who wore a custom semi-sheer Giorgio Armani gown of her own.

Reaction to Sweeney’s dress spread quickly across social media, with fans praising the minimalist, retro-inspired styling. “Sydney Sweeney just turned the Armani Beauty Dinner into her personal runway. Sweeney’s Venice trip has carried extra significance given the city’s connection to her relationship with Braun, since the two first sparked dating rumors after meeting at Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s wedding in Venice back in June 2025. This return to the city, now as an official couple attending festival events together, has been widely framed as a full-circle moment in their relationship.
