Dark Horse Comics, along with Disney and Lightstorm Entertainment, are bringing fans two exciting new collections of comics set in James Cameron’s Avatar universe. These books tell new stories with familiar and new characters and are part of the official Avatar world. Both collections will be available in late summer and fall of 2025.

Avatar: The High Ground Omnibus

This book is a prequel to Avatar: The Way of Water. It was written by award-winning author Sherri L. Smith, based on one of James Cameron’s early screenplays. The artwork is done by talented artists like Guilherme Balbi, Michael Atiyeh, Wes Dzioba, and Michael Heisler, with a cover by Doug Wheatley.

The story takes place over ten years after the humans were forced to leave Pandora. But now, they’re coming back — and they’re bringing a powerful army with them! Jake Sully and Neytiri have built a peaceful life and raised a family, but the new threat puts everything at risk.

Avatar: The High Ground Omnibus will be available in paperback with 264 pages. You can find it in stores starting September 30 and October 1, 2025, for $29.99. Fans can pre-order it now on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, or at local comic shops.

Finally, in Adapt or Die, Dr. Grace Augustine tries to create peace between humans and Na’vi while a mysterious sickness causes trouble.
