‘Fall 2’ First Look Revealed: Harriet Slater and Arsema Thomas Lead New Survival Thriller
The first look at Fall 2 has been released, giving fans an early idea of what to expect from the upcoming survival thriller. The film continues the story that began with Fall in 2022. It is directed by Peter and Michael Spierig, with the script written by Scott Mann and Jonathan Frank, based on information from the film’s production team and official updates.
The story follows Jax, who is dealing with the loss of her sister Shiloh Hunter after the events of the first film. Wanting to honor her sister’s memory, she joins Luce, a friend of Shiloh, in taking on a risky challenge. They attempt a dangerous plank walk at Mount Kwan-in in Taipei. Things quickly go wrong when a rockslide hits the area, and a tsunami adds to the chaos. The two women end up stuck high above the ground, more than 2,000 feet in the air, and must find a way to survive together.
The main cast includes Harriet Slater as Jax Hunter, Arsema Thomas as Luce, and Tom Brittney in a supporting role.

The film came together after the first Fall gained new popularity when it started streaming on Netflix. That renewed interest led to early talks about continuing the story in 2023. Soon after, plans expanded into a full franchise with multiple sequels in development.
By 2024, Peter and Michael Spierig were confirmed as directors for this second film. Scott Mann stayed closely involved as a producer and also helped shape the wider franchise plan. Several production companies worked together on the project, including Tea Shop Productions, Flawless Productions Inc., and Capstone Pictures.
Filming for Fall 2 took place in Thailand and was completed by 2025. The project also went through international distribution planning during industry events like the Toronto International Film Festival.
The release date for Fall 2 is set for August 7, in the United States. Work is also already moving forward on a third film. That next chapter will continue the story with returning characters and new faces, and Scott Mann is expected to take a bigger creative role in it.
From my point of view, this sequel looks like it is aiming to push the survival idea even further, both in scale and tension. The setup with high-altitude danger and natural disasters feels intense and simple at the same time, which is often what makes these kinds of thrillers work. It will be interesting to see if it can match or even go beyond the impact of the first film.
