Fans Call for ‘South Park’ to Be Canceled Over Charlie Kirk Controversy as Episode Featuring Him is Pulled
Comedy Central has pulled an episode of South Park that mocked Charlie Kirk after the conservative commentator was shot and killed during a speaking event at Utah Valley University.
Kirk was struck in the neck and later died at the hospital. His death sparked strong reactions online, including from former president Donald Trump, who wrote on Truth Social, “The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead. No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!”
Now, fans are calling for the show to be canceled altogether.

Before the tragedy, Kirk himself had spoken about the episode titled Got a Nut, where Cartman parodied him by holding fake campus debates.
At the time, Kirk said, “They’re going to obviously make fun of me … but I think it’s kind of funny and it kind of goes to show the cultural impact and the resonance that our movement has been able to achieve.”
He added, “We as conservatives should be able to take a joke, we shouldn’t take ourselves so seriously – that’s something that the left has always done.”
In the episode, Cartman copies Kirk’s look and mannerisms, visits colleges, and edits debate clips to make himself look better. At one point, he says, “These young college girls are totally unprepared, so I can just destroy them, and also edit out all the ones that actually argue back well.” The show even gave Cartman a fake “Charlie Kirk Award for Young Masterdebaters.”

While Kirk laughed at the parody when it first aired, many of his supporters are now furious in light of his death.
Social media users blamed the show for creating an environment of hate. One person wrote, “Hate to say it because I was a South Park fan from day 1, but that show should now be cancelled.” Another posted, “South Park is also to blame for what happened to Charlie Kirk. Not one ‘Biden’ episode for 4 years. Then as soon as Trump is in they literally put him in bed with the devil & add Charlie Kirk to the episode.”
Fans also speculated that the writers would use Kirk’s death in future storylines. A user joked, “South Park writers room gotta be crazy right now.” Another added, “South Park will undoubtedly make fun of this and kill Charlie Kirk on their show and then they’ll finally get what they’ve been wanting to get cancelled.”
According to the Arizona Republic, a rerun of the episode scheduled for Wednesday was replaced with another from this season. Comedy Central has not given an official response, but The Daily Beast reported that they reached out to the network for comment.
Upcoming episodes of South Park are still planned, but the future of the Charlie Kirk parody is uncertain. The show’s production process often involves writing episodes within days of airing, allowing the creators to keep up with fast-moving events.
Deadline reported earlier this year that because of the pace of political news, the series switched from weekly to biweekly releases to give the team more time to react.
Kirk’s death and the removal of the episode have now fueled debates over comedy, politics, and responsibility. While South Park has built its reputation on mocking public figures, the timing of the parody alongside a real-life tragedy has divided fans.
