‘Fantastic Four: First Steps’ Teaser Brings Classic Comic Moment to Life in New Ad, Reveals Team’s First Villain
A brand-new teaser has just dropped for The Fantastic Four: First Steps, and fans got their first live-action look at Giganto, the team’s very first villain from the comics. Interestingly, this big reveal didn’t come in a regular trailer, but in a Little Caesars ad made for the film. The ad recreates a classic scene from the Fantastic Four’s first comic book, which came out all the way back in 1961.
In the teaser, viewers see Giganto, a giant sea monster, rising up from the ground just like he did on the original comic book cover.

Ben Grimm (played by Ebon Moss-Bachrach) and Sue Storm (Vanessa Kirby) fly onto the scene in the Fantasticar, while Johnny Storm (Joseph Quinn) lights up and flies into action using his flame powers.
Giganto isn’t a new face to comic book fans. He first showed up in Fantastic Four #1 back in 1961, created by the legendary Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. In the comics, he’s a massive creature with serious strength and is known as one of the first big threats the Fantastic Four ever faced.
It’s worth mentioning that there’s another version of Giganto tied to Mole Man, which looks more like a giant humanoid lizard, but this one in the movie is the sea monster kind.
The upcoming film is directed by Matt Shakman and written by Josh Friedman and Eric Pearson. It stars Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm, and Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm. Other big names in the cast include John Malkovich, Julia Garner, Paul Walter Hauser, and Ralph Ineson. Ineson plays Galactus, the cosmic villain who wants to eat entire planets.
The movie takes place on a retro-futuristic version of Earth that feels like it’s still stuck in the 1960s, full of old-school tech with a sci-fi twist. The Fantastic Four will have to protect their world from Galactus and his powerful herald, the Silver Surfer.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps hits theaters in the U.S. on July 25, 2025. It will be shown in IMAX, ScreenX, and 4DX formats. The movie has already had a few release date changes. It was first set for November 2024, then moved to February 2025, then to May, and now finally to July. It will officially kick off Phase Six of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
