‘Fantastic Four’ Reportedly Gets a Filming Update With One Notable Addition to the Cast

‘Fantastic Four’ is currently the hottest upcoming MCU movie only a few weeks ago release date and cast were announced, confirming what we’ve known for quite a while. Pedro Pascal will be MCU’s new Reed Richards, with Vanessa Kirby taking on the role of Sue Storm. The Thing and the Human Torch will be played by Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Joseph Quinn respectively.

Ever since the release date for the movie was announced we knew that the filming was supposed to start in the summer but it seems that CanWeGetSomeToast, a notable industry insider has some news to share. According to the leaker, the filming is supposed to start in August, and Franklin Richards will be in the film, although it’s unknown to what extent.

Based on everything we know, the movie will be set in the past, at least the majority of it, so the version of Franklin we’re going to get is presumably, really young Franklin. Fans already pointed out that it’s crazy that the movie has been in development for so long and now it’s finally coming close to filming.

The whole story with the ‘Fantastic Four’ reboot started back in December 2017, when Disney announced plans to acquire 21st Century Fox which gave Marvel Studios the control of properties such as Marvel’s first family and X-Men. In 2019 the acquisition was finalized and the first plans to reboot the original trilogy gave rise.

Later that same year, Feige announced that a reboot was in development and 3 years would pass until we got the news that Wats was supposed to direct the movie, in 2022 Wats decided to leave the project only to be replaced by Shankman in September 2022. Due to the multiple delays and SAG-AFTRA strikes, production had to be rescheduled for January 2024 in London, however, the movie failed to meet that date as well. The whole cast was confirmed last month. ‘The Fantastic Four’ is scheduled to be released on July 25, 2025.
