The movie Fantastic Four: First Steps premiered on July 25 as the first film in Phase Six of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The film has been well-received by critics and has earned $227 million worldwide so far. A sequel is already being planned.

The film stars Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn as the Fantastic Four team. Other actors in the cast include Julia Garner, Sarah Niles, Mark Gatiss, Natasha Lyonne, Paul Walter Hauser, and Ralph Ineson. The story is set in a retro-futuristic 1960s world where the team must stop Galactus, a massive cosmic being who wants to destroy the Earth.

Recently, the cast spoke with IMDb, answering various questions about the movie and their roles. When Ebon Moss-Bachrach was asked what he would do if he had The Thing’s superpowers, he didn’t hesitate.

“There’s a handful of fascists that I would just throw into outer space,” he said.

Ebon isn’t the only cast member to speak out on social issues. Pedro Pascal, who has a transgender sibling, is known for his support of LGBT rights.

Ebon’s statement is more than just words. His father was born in Germany to Jewish-American parents, and Ebon comes from a background connected to fighting oppression. His character, Ben Grimm (The Thing), is also Jewish, both in the comics and in the MCU.

In one scene, Ben visits a synagogue to meet Rachel Rozman, played by Natasha Lyonne, who is Jewish in real life and on screen.

This connection gives extra meaning to Ebon’s comment and shows how important these issues are to him. The cast of Fantastic Four: First Steps is not only focused on their action roles but also on standing up for real-world causes.
