First Look at the Return of ‘Fear Factor’ with Johnny Knoxville as Host
Johnny Knoxville is stepping into a new role, but this time he won’t be the one doing the stunts. The Jackass star is set to host the Fox revival of Fear Factor, now officially called Fear Factor: The Next Chapter. Fox has released the first look at the show, giving viewers a glimpse at the intense challenges contestants will face.
According to the official description, the series will take place in “an unforgiving, remote location,” where strangers live together and confront extreme stunts, difficult challenges, and a social strategy game where trust is scarce. “Only one contestant will conquer all their fears and walk away with the massive grand prize,” the network says.

The show will feature classic Fear Factor elements such as gross eating challenges, dangerous snakes, heights, and fire-based stunts. The teaser video released by Fox shows contestants facing these terrifying tasks in full view of the audience. The series is set to premiere in January.
Knoxville is best known for his work on the Jackass franchise as both a star and producer. He recently appeared in Apple TV’s comedy The Studio and the film The Luckiest Man In America. His other television credits include The Prank Panel, Hulu’s Reboot, History of the World: Part Two, Agent Elvis, and Ridiculousness.
The original Fear Factor ran on NBC from 2001 to 2006 with Joe Rogan as host. NBC briefly revived the series in 2011, and MTV brought it back again in 2017. The new Fox version promises updated stunts and new twists while keeping the high-stakes, fear-driven competition at the heart of the show.
