First Look at ‘The White Lotus’ Season 4 Filming in Cannes—New Footage Revealed

Production on the fourth season of The White Lotus has officially started in France, according to entertainment reports and early footage shared on social media. The shoot is taking place during the Cannes Film Festival, which has added extra attention around the new season.

The new season is being filmed along the French Riviera, with key locations including Cannes, Saint-Tropez, and Paris. Social media clips from the festival already show members of the cast on set, giving fans an early glimpse of the upcoming season’s atmosphere.

The series, created by Mike White for HBO, continues its focus on wealthy guests and the tension that follows them in luxury vacation settings. This time, the story is expected to explore fame and celebrity culture, with Cannes and the film industry playing a central role.

HBO executive producer David Bernad explained that the idea for the location came after Mike White became strongly inspired by the French Riviera. He originally considered multiple European locations, but the plan changed after White’s experience in southern France led him to focus entirely on the region.

The season is also expected to use the Hôtel Martinez in Cannes as one of its main filming locations. Production is scheduled to continue through 2026, with filming planned across several months.

The cast for the new season includes a mix of returning stars and new additions. Among the confirmed names are Steve Coogan, Ben Kingsley, Kumail Nanjiani, Heather Graham, and Vincent Cassel. Other actors joining the season include Alexander Ludwig, Chris Messina, Rosie Perez, Max Greenfield, Chloe Bennet, and Laura Dern, who was reportedly seen filming beach scenes in Saint-Tropez.

Further cast additions include Sandra Bernhard, Frida Gustavsson, Charlie Hall, and several other supporting actors, expanding the ensemble for the new storyline.

According to HBO confirmation reported in late 2025, the fourth season is fully set in France, with filming planned between April and October 2026. The focus on the Cannes Film Festival suggests the story will be closely tied to the world of cinema, fame, and public image.

As production continues, early footage from Cannes is already building excitement around The White Lotus, with fans watching closely for more updates from the set.
