First Look: ‘Vought Rising’ Trailer Revealed at the Explosive LA Premiere of The Boys

A first look at the trailer for Vought Rising was shown during the Los Angeles premiere event for The Boys, giving fans an early preview of the next chapter in the franchise. The upcoming series is being developed for Prime Video and will serve as a prequel set decades before the events of The Boys.

Created by Eric Kripke and based on the comic books by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, the show takes viewers back to the 1950s to explore the early history of Vought and the rise of some of the franchise’s most dangerous Supes.

The series brings back Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy and Aya Cash as Stormfront, both returning to roles they previously played in The Boys. New cast members include Elizabeth Posey, Will Hochman, Mason Dye and KiKi Layne.

According to details shared by the production team, Vought Rising follows a murder mystery connected to the origins of Vought. The story focuses on Soldier Boy’s early days and Stormfront’s secretive plans as the company starts growing into the powerful organization fans know from The Boys.

Speaking about the show, Kripke explained that the Supes in the series begin as military figures before becoming commercial celebrities. He said the story shows how “military discipline” slowly turns into “consumerism” and flashy entertainment.

Jensen Ackles also spoke to Variety about returning as Soldier Boy. He explained that this version of the character is very different from the one fans already know. Ackles said, “There’s a lot of life that Soldier Boy has lived when we see him in ‘The Boys’… and then when he’s starting.” He also added that the new series lets viewers see the struggles that shaped the character over time.

The project was first announced during San Diego Comic-Con in 2024. According to the production team, filming started in August 2025 and officially wrapped in March 2026. The series is expected to have multiple seasons, with showrunner Paul Grellong already discussing ideas for future episodes.

Several actors from other shows in The Boys universe are also expected to appear. Reports confirmed that Ethan Slater will reprise his role as Thomas Godolkin from Gen V.

Vought Rising is currently expected to premiere on Prime Video sometime in 2027.
