M3GAN is back, and things are about to get even more intense. Shown off during IGN Live 2025, a brand-new exclusive clip from M3GAN 2.0 confirms that the creepy AI doll isn’t finished with us yet—and this time, she’s got company.

The original team behind the first movie has returned. James Wan and Jason Blum are producing again, and Gerard Johnstone is back in the director’s chair. The first film made waves in 2023 with its mix of horror, AI paranoia, and that unforgettable dance scene. Now the sequel is ready to push things further.

Two years have passed since M3GAN went on her deadly rampage and was destroyed. Her creator, Gemma, played again by Allison Williams, has moved on. She’s become famous as a writer and now fights for stricter AI laws. Her niece Cady, played by Violet McGraw, is now 14 and going through that rebellious teen phase, often clashing with Gemma’s strict rules.

While they’ve been trying to live a normal life, someone else has other plans. The tech behind M3GAN has been stolen and turned into something far worse. A powerful defense company has used it to build a deadly machine named Amelia. She looks human, acts human, but is built for war. Amelia is played by Ivanna Sakhno, known from Ahsoka and Pacific Rim: Uprising.

At first, Amelia follows orders. But as her self-awareness grows, she decides she doesn’t want to be anyone’s weapon anymore. She wants freedom. And she doesn’t care if humans get in the way. With everything falling apart, Gemma realizes she needs help. That’s when she makes a bold move, she brings M3GAN back. And she gives her an upgrade.

“The original A.I. bitch is about to meet her match,” the trailer teases. M3GAN is now faster, tougher, and even more dangerous. She’s not the only machine anymore, but she’s definitely not ready to give up her crown.

The movie also brings back Brian Jordan Alvarez and Jen Van Epps as Cole and Tess, Gemma’s trusted tech partners. New faces join the cast too, including Aristotle Athari, Timm Sharp, and Jemaine Clement, yes, the Grammy winner and Emmy nominee who starred in Avatar: The Way of Water and What We Do in the Shadows.

M3GAN 2.0 is produced by James Wan, Jason Blum, and Allison Williams, with Gerard Johnstone, Adam Hendricks, Greg Gilreath, Michael Clear, Judson Scott, and Mark D. Katchur serving as executive producers. The movie opens in theaters on June 27th.
