The biggest addition to this year’s celebration comes in the form of “Coven Academy,” a brand new supernatural drama series premiering as part of the block. Created by Tim Federle, the show is set in New Orleans and follows teenage witches-in-training tasked with protecting their city from dangerous and ancient forces, marking Freeform’s first major scripted series premiere tied directly to the annual Halloween event.
This year’s schedule leans heavily into a creature-feature theme, with titles like “Monsters, Inc.,” “Monsters University,” “Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed,” and “Frankenweenie” all making appearances throughout the month. That monster mash pairs nicely with the network’s usual haunted house staples, including “Beetlejuice,” “Casper,” and the “Ghostbusters” franchise, which includes a Freeform premiere of “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire.”
