‘From’s’ New Episode Brings a Plot Twist That Feels Like Something Straight out of ‘Lost’

MGM+ series From is once again drawing comparisons to Lost, after its latest episode introduced a storyline that feels very similar to one of the most talked-about ideas from the ABC drama’s final season.

The show has always been linked to Lost because of its setup, where a group of strangers are trapped in a mysterious place full of danger, confusion, and unexplained rules. It also shares another clear connection through actor Harold Perrineau, who appears in both series.

According to Season 4, Episode 7, the new episode introduces a strange vision experienced by Henry, played by Robert Joy. Henry is already dealing with a lot of trauma inside Fromville, including loss, fear, and the growing sense that nothing around him makes sense. In this episode, his mental state becomes even more unstable after a disturbing sequence begins to unfold.

The episode shows Henry seeing himself in a different version of reality. In this vision, he is lying in a comfortable bedroom connected to medical equipment, while his son Victor, played by Scott McCord, appears in a calm and well-dressed state, taking care of him. The contrast between this peaceful setting and the violent reality of Fromville makes the scene even more unsettling. Henry also seems unsure if what he is seeing is real or just another trick of his mind.

This type of storytelling has reminded many viewers of Lost, especially its final season, which introduced a “flash sideways” timeline. That version of the story showed an alternate reality where the plane crash never happened, and the characters were living different lives in Los Angeles. At the time, it created a lot of debate among fans about what was real and what it meant for the story.

The new episode of From does not confirm that it is copying that idea, but it clearly plays with a similar concept of alternate reality or imagined timelines. Henry’s vision could suggest a different version of events where Fromville does not exist at all. Some interpretations even connect this to earlier moments in the series, including when Tabitha woke up in a hospital outside the town after falling from the lighthouse.

However, the show may also be taking a different direction. Instead of confirming a second timeline, the episode suggests that Henry’s experience could be a hallucination. Earlier in the episode, he is shown in a weakened and intoxicated state, which may explain his unstable perception of reality. This opens the possibility that the vision is not a true alternate world, but another psychological effect caused by the strange forces inside Fromville.

Lost Season 6 became controversial because of its handling of similar ideas, with the flash sideways storyline dividing fans. Because of that, there is attention on how From will handle its own version of the concept. The concern is whether the show will keep its story tight or risk losing focus by expanding too many parallel ideas.

At the same time, there are signs that From may be using this idea in a more controlled way. Some interpretations suggest the visions could be tied to other strange elements already introduced in the series, including unexplained substances and supernatural influences affecting the town’s residents. This would mean the storyline is less about alternate universes and more about manipulation of perception.

The source of this discussion comes from episode analysis of MGM+’s From Season 4, Episode 7, along with comparisons made by critics and viewers who have also followed Lost. While nothing is confirmed about where the story is heading, the similarities are clear enough to spark debate.

For now, From continues to blur the line between reality and illusion, leaving both its characters and its audience unsure of what is real inside Fromville.
