GameStop Stores Expected to Have 100 Switch 2 Units at Launch, Claim Says

A new claim suggests that most GameStop stores will have plenty of Nintendo Switch 2 consoles available when the system launches. According to Nintendeal on X (formerly Twitter), sources say that each GameStop location will have around 100 units of the Switch 2 at launch. However, game titles and accessories for the new console may be much more limited.
Some players have wondered if 100 units per store is enough to meet the high demand for the console. In response, the source mentioned that 100 units is actually “a lot more than basically any console launch ever.“
The big question on many players’ minds is whether other retailers, like Best Buy, will have similar stock numbers. Nintendeal shared that they have not heard about Best Buy’s plans yet, but the general feeling is that the Switch 2 will not be hard to find once it releases.
Nintendo recently delayed pre-orders for the Switch 2 in the U.S., saying they wanted to “assess the potential impact” of tariffs on the consoles. Still, it looks like Nintendo is preparing well for the console’s launch. Players will need to use a pre-order invite system through the My Nintendo Store, with invites starting to roll out next month.
Other news reports suggest that Switch 2 units made in China could face a hefty 145% import tariff in the U.S. Additionally, Breath of the Wild and its upcoming downloadable content (DLC) for the Switch 2 are expected to cost $90.
