Gen V has officially ended after two seasons, and actress Jaz Sinclair has now shared an emotional goodbye to her character Marie Moreau. The series is part of The Boys universe on Prime Video, and its cancellation was confirmed in April.

Sinclair, who played Marie Moreau, posted a long message on Instagram reflecting on her time with the show. In her post, she explained how the role changed her life and how deeply she connected with the character from the start. She wrote about first auditioning for Gen V back in January 2021 and how unusual it felt compared to her normal auditions.

She said, “My first audition for Gen V was January of 2021. Normally I do a tape and forget about it forever, but for some reason I dreamt about this one for a month. When I got the call (after 5 more auditions) I screamed and cried and jumped up and down. I felt the kind of head to toe excitement that you only feel when something is all the way right.”

She also talked about how difficult it is to sum up the experience of working on the show for several years. According to her Instagram message, she said she went through a lot during that time, both good and hard moments, and built strong friendships on set. She described the role of Marie as something she is very proud of.

In her post she added, “I can’t possibly sum up the last 5 years of joys, challenges, loss, laughter, late nights and friendships in a post.”

Sinclair also spoke about what the character meant to her personally. She said playing Marie Moreau felt important, especially as a woman of color portraying a complex superhero character. She explained that fans reacting positively to Marie meant a lot to her and made the experience feel meaningful.

She wrote, “But what I will say is that I am truly honored to have gotten to be your Marie. She is fierce and flawed and powerful as hell. And as a woman, particularly a woman of color it brings me so much pride to have gotten to embody such a multifaceted and badass character.”

She also mentioned how meeting fans in real life and hearing their reactions made her feel proud of the work. She added, “Every time one of you fine folks say hi to me on the street and let me know you were moved by Marie I positively beam, that’s what it’s all for I think.”
