Apple TV is ramping up excitement for the second season of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, and the new teaser promises some massive surprises. The show will return with Godzilla, King Kong, and a brand-new threat called Titan X.

While the teaser doesn’t fully reveal the monster, it hints at the fear Titan X brings to everyone on screen. Even Godzilla and Kong may have reason to worry, according to Apple’s press notes.

“In addition to Kong, season two will feature Godzilla and introduce a new Titan: the enigmatic Titan X, now officially on the loose. Titan X isn’t just another monster; it’s a living cataclysm,” the network said.

“When its massive bioluminescent form breaks the surface of the ocean, the world seems to hold its breath. Titan X stands at the center of the mystery—an ancient force emerging from the deep, its purpose uncertain, its power unmatched, its awe and terror in equal measure.”

King Kong is new to the Monarch series but not to the Monsterverse films. Titan X, however, appears to be an entirely new danger. The teaser also hints at big changes in the story, with past events affecting the present. The new season will explore Kong’s Skull Island, a mysterious village, and a “titan event” that threatens the world.

Returning cast members include Kurt and Wyatt Russell, both playing Army officer Lee Shaw at different ages, alongside Anna Sawai, Kiersey Clemons, Ren Watabe, Mari Yamamoto, Joe Tippett, and Anders Holm. Guest stars include Takehiro Hira, Amber Midthunder, Curtiss Cook, Cliff Curtis, Dominique Tipper, and Camilo Jiménez Varón.

“Season two will pick up with the fate of Monarch, and the world, hanging in the balance. The dramatic saga reveals buried secrets that reunite our heroes (and villains)…all with the threat of a titan event on the horizon,” Apple explained.

The new season of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters will premiere on Apple TV on February 27, with episodes released weekly for a total of ten episodes.

From what we’ve seen, this teaser sets the stage for a much bigger Monsterverse story. Titan X looks like it could shake up the series in a huge way, and it’s exciting to see familiar characters like Godzilla and King Kong take center stage again. I’m curious what fans think about this new threat, do you think Titan X will be the most dangerous monster yet? Share your thoughts in the comments.
