Hailey Bieber made a memorable entrance at the Sydney premiere of Wuthering Heights on February 12, embracing a dark, romantic look that matched the gothic feel of the evening.

The premiere took place at the historic State Theatre, where the Rhode Beauty founder stepped out in a sheer black lace dress from Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello. The dress featured delicate Chantilly lace over a matching bodysuit, with floor-length flared skirts and dramatic bell sleeves that felt inspired by Victorian fashion.

She completed the outfit with satin crepe heels and kept her accessories simple, letting the details of the lace take center stage. Hailey swapped her usual sleek bun for a chic bob with flipped-out ends and chose a soft, rosy makeup look to complement her monochrome outfit.

Stylist Andrew Mukamal, known for his work with Margot Robbie, helped put together the entire look, keeping a stylish connection between the premiere’s attendees. Hailey has spoken in the past about her approach to fashion.

She said, “It is always surprising to see which of my looks resonate with people, though I feel proud when my choices inspire others.” For her, confidence is the most important part of dressing up, and she believes clothes look best when she feels comfortable and chic.

While Hailey is known for starting trends like “strawberry girl summer” and “glazed donut nails,” she often feels safest in neutral tones like black, beige, and brown. Lately, though, she’s been experimenting with bolder shapes, colors, and textures. Her Sydney appearance was a perfect example of mixing classic gothic style with modern elegance.

This event comes as Hailey juggles her international press tour and life as a mother to her 1-year-old son, Jack Blues Bieber, whom she shares with husband Justin Bieber. She was in Australia not only for the premiere but also to celebrate Rhode Beauty’s launch in the Australian and New Zealand markets.

The brand has been growing quickly since it started and is now a big name in global beauty conversations. Justin Bieber has also been in the spotlight recently. He returned to the stage at the Grammy Awards on February 1 after a four-year break, performing songs from his new albums Swag and Swag II and showing off a huge back tattoo dedicated to Hailey.

The film that brought Hailey to Sydney, Emerald Fennell’s Wuthering Heights, is a modern take on the Emily Brontë classic, starring Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi as Catherine and Heathcliff. Hailey’s daring gothic look seemed to pay tribute to the film’s Victorian themes while keeping her signature style intact.

Do you think Hailey Bieber’s bold gothic look at the Sydney premiere worked as a nod to the film, or do you prefer her colorful, clean girl style? Share your thoughts.
