Almost 25 years after they first appeared together in the Harry Potter films, Tom Felton and Daniel Radcliffe recently had a friendly reunion in New York City. The actors, known to millions as Draco Malfoy and Harry Potter, met backstage during Radcliffe’s Broadway run, showing that their off-screen friendship is still going strong.

Felton, who is now 38, visited Radcliffe at the Hudson Theatre on Thursday, March 5. Radcliffe, 36, is currently performing in the solo Broadway play Every Brilliant Thing. According to social media posts shared after the visit, the two actors hugged backstage and smiled for photos together.

The caption that accompanied the post read “Broomsticks to Broadway.” The line referenced how both actors have moved from the magical world of Hogwarts to the stage in New York.

Right now, Radcliffe is leading the one-person play Every Brilliant Thing, which asks him to interact directly with the audience during the show. At the same time, Felton has stepped back into his most famous role. He is playing an older Draco Malfoy in the Broadway production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

This kind of support between the two actors is not new. Felton has attended several of Radcliffe’s theater projects over the years. He was in the audience during Radcliffe’s 2018 Broadway performance in The Lifespan of a Fact. He also showed up for a screening of the filmed version of Merrily We Roll Along in December 2025.

Radcliffe has also helped Felton adjust to life on the Broadway stage. Speaking at the 2025 Tony Awards, Felton explained that Radcliffe had been guiding him through the process of performing live. He said his old co-star was basically helping him through the transition to theater.

Felton also spoke about how welcoming the Broadway community has been. He said the experience has been exciting, and having someone like Radcliffe to talk to has made it easier.

Radcliffe is no stranger to Broadway. His stage career started back in 2008 when he appeared in the revival of Equus. Since then, he has taken on several major roles in productions such as How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying and The Cripple of Inishmaan.

Both actors are currently working on limited Broadway runs that are expected to end in May. Radcliffe’s Every Brilliant Thing is known for being very personal and interactive, something he has reportedly enjoyed performing.

Felton’s appearance in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has also attracted a lot of attention from fans. He is performing at the Lyric Theatre and recently extended his run through May 10. Felton has said it feels special to play Draco again at the same age the character is in the story.

Outside the theater, both actors also have film projects on the way. Radcliffe is set to appear in the Vietnam War thriller Trust the Man. Felton recently finished working on the action science fiction film They Will Kill You.

Even with a new HBO television adaptation of Harry Potter in development with a new cast, Felton and Radcliffe seem focused on their own creative work. Their long friendship continues to remind fans of the connection they built while making the original film series.
