Hayden Christensen Admits His Daughter Has Yet To See Him in ‘Star Wars’ – Here’s Why
Hayden Christensen shared a funny and relatable moment from his life as a dad. Speaking at GalaxyCon in March, the actor talked about trying to watch one of his own Star Wars movies with his daughter, but things did not go as planned.
He said they started watching Revenge of the Sith, but the movie night didn’t last long. The timing turned out to be a problem, especially with bedtime getting close. “It was getting late, and it was past her bedtime. And I was about to take Count Dooku’s head off. So I thought that was a good exit point,” Christensen told the crowd, getting laughs from fans.
The moment shows a different side of the actor, who played Anakin Skywalker before he became Darth Vader. While many kids watch their parents on screen, this situation is a bit more complicated. The story he is part of includes some dark and intense scenes, which makes it harder to share with a younger audience.
According to Christensen, his daughter Briar Rose knows he was in Star Wars, but she hasn’t fully watched the films yet. He explained that she already understands Darth Vader is a villain, and that idea makes it a little strange for her to see her dad in that role. Because of that, he has been careful about when and how to introduce her to the movies.
He has mentioned before that he prefers to wait until she is older and more comfortable with the difference between fiction and reality. For now, it seems like their Star Wars movie nights are still on hold. The bedtime routine is winning over lightsaber battles for the time being.
Fans found the story both funny and relatable. It is a reminder that even someone who played one of the most famous characters in film history is still just a parent trying to do the right thing for his child.
Outside of family life, Christensen has been busy meeting fans at conventions and events. According to his recent appearances, he has spent much of the year traveling and connecting with people who have supported his return to the Star Wars world in shows like Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ahsoka.
For now, his daughter may not be ready to watch his full journey as Anakin Skywalker, but it sounds like that day will come eventually. Until then, the story stays paused right before one of its most intense moments.
