A new behind-the-scenes video for House of the Dragon Season 3 has been released, giving fans an early look at what is coming next in the story. The clip arrives as excitement grows ahead of the show’s return.

The third season of the series is set to premiere on June 21, on HBO and HBO Max in the United States. The season will run for eight episodes and continues adapting material from George R. R. Martin’s book “Fire & Blood,” which is part of the wider “A Song of Ice and Fire” universe.

The new behind-the-scenes video shows brief moments from production and gives viewers a look at the scale of the upcoming season. It does not reveal major story details, but it confirms that filming was completed in 2025 after production started in March of that year and wrapped in October.

The release schedule for Season 3 has already been confirmed. Episodes will air weekly after the premiere on June 21. with the season continuing through early August. Each episode is directed by different filmmakers, including Clare Kilner, Nina Lopez-Corrado, Andrij Parekh, and Loni Peristere, according to production details shared by HBO.

The cast returns with many familiar faces from earlier seasons. This includes Matt Smith as Daemon Targaryen, Emma D’Arcy as Rhaenyra Targaryen, Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower, and Ewan Mitchell as Aemond Targaryen. Other returning actors include Rhys Ifans, Steve Toussaint, Fabien Frankel, and Tom Glynn-Carney, among many others.

Season 3 also introduces several new characters. New cast members include James Norton, Tommy Flanagan, Dan Fogler, Tom Cullen, and Barry Sloane. These additions suggest that the upcoming season will expand the political and military conflicts in the story.

Filming took place at Leavesden Studios in Watford and involved a large-scale production schedule. According to HBO production notes, the series continued its focus on major battles, dragon sequences, and political tension within the Targaryen civil war storyline.

The behind-the-scenes video has increased anticipation among fans who are waiting for the next chapter of the story.
