In honor of Pride Month, Max will also spotlight a wide range of LGBTQIA+ stories. Plus, sports fans can catch all the action from Roland-Garros 2025, including the men’s and women’s championships. Let’s take a closer look at what’s new on Max this June.
1. The Gilded Age S3 – June 22
Season 3 of The Gilded Age returns with eight weekly episodes, diving deeper into the dramatic shifts of America’s booming 19th century. As Bertha Russell pushes for greater social power and George risks everything on a high-stakes railroad deal, tensions rise across New York’s elite.
Meanwhile, personal conflicts erupt in the Brook household, and Peggy faces challenges in love and career. The star-studded cast includes Carrie Coon, Christine Baranski, Cynthia Nixon, and Morgan Spector, with Julian Fellowes returning as creator and executive producer.
2. A Minecraft Movie – Coming Soon
In A Minecraft Movie, four unlikely friends, Garrett, Henry, Natalie, and Dawn—are pulled from their everyday lives into the blocky, wild world of Minecraft. To get back home, they must learn how to survive and work together in this strange land full of Piglins, Zombies, and magic.
With help from the expert builder Steve, they go on an epic quest that teaches them the power of creativity and teamwork. The movie stars Jason Momoa, Jack Black, Emma Myers, and Danielle Brooks, and is directed by Jared Hess.
3. Partenhope – June 6
Parthenope is a beautiful and emotional story about a girl named Parthenope, who is born in Naples in 1950. As she grows up, she spends long summers falling in love with her city and the many interesting people she meets.
The film follows her search for happiness throughout her life. Directed and written by Oscar-winner Paolo Sorrentino, this movie stars Celeste Dalla Porta, Gary Oldman, and others in a touching journey full of love and memories.
4. Cleaner – June 13
In this action-packed thriller from Quiver Distribution, a group of activists take over a big energy company’s party in London and hold 300 people hostage to reveal the company’s wrongdoings.
But things get out of control when one of them turns violent and plans to kill everyone. Now, it’s up to a brave ex-soldier, played by Daisy Ridley, who’s cleaning windows high above the building, to save the hostages—including her younger brother. The film also stars Taz Skylar and Clive Owen, and is directed by Martin Campbell.
5. The Day The Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie – June 27
In this fun animated movie from Ketchup Entertainment and Warner Bros. Animation, Porky Pig and Daffy Duck become unlikely heroes when they find an alien mind control plan at a bubble gum factory.
Now, it’s up to them to stop the aliens and save the world—if they don’t drive each other crazy first! The film features voices from Eric Bauza, Candi Milo, and more, and is directed by Pete Browngardt.
6. The Mortician – June 1
The Mortician is a dark and powerful HBO docuseries about a family-run funeral home in California that hid shocking secrets. In the 1980s, David Sconce took over the business and began using cruel and dishonest methods to make more money from the dead.
What looked like a trusted funeral home was actually doing terrible things for profit. New episodes come out weekly. The series is directed by Joshua Rofé and produced by HBO with Jonah Hill as one of the executive producers.
7. Enigma – June 24
Enigma is a powerful HBO documentary that looks at the lives of famous transgender women like April Ashley and Amanda Lear.
Directed by Zackary Drucker, the film tells their different stories and shows how each of them helped shape trans history and culture. It talks about what they gained and lost by living as their true selves. Their journeys are full of strength, pain, and hope. Enigma premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival and was made by Story Syndicate with music by Danny Bensi and Saunder Jurriaans.
8. My Mom Jane – June 27
My Mom Jayne is a touching documentary where Mariska Hargitay, the daughter of famous actress Jayne Mansfield, explores her mother’s life and legacy. After losing Jayne in a car accident when she was just three years old, Mariska looks at old photos, home movies, and interviews to understand her mother better, both as a public star and a person close to her family. The film is directed and produced by Mariska herself.
