‘House of the Dragon’ Star Bethany Antonia Wants to Play an Iconic X-Men in the MCU
A new bit of fan discussion has connected House of the Dragon with the world of the X-Men. The talk comes from an interview reported by ComicBook, where cast members from the HBO series spoke about their roles and also shared which superhero characters they would like to play in the future.
The conversation happened during an interview. Actors Phoebe Campbell and Bethany Antonia, who play members of the Targaryen family in House of the Dragon, were talking about Season 3 of the show and what might come next for their characters. Campbell plays Lady Rhaena Targaryen, while Antonia plays Baela Targaryen.
The discussion started in a casual way, but it quickly turned into something fans enjoyed. Antonia was asked if there was any superhero or comic book character she would want to play in the future. She immediately brought up Storm from the X-Men. She said, “Oh, Storm, but I think that’s already taken.” When she was told that the role might still be open, she added, “There’s a rumor, but like, call me.”
Storm, also known as Ororo Munroe, is one of the most famous characters in the X-Men universe. She can control the weather and has been a key member of the team in comics and animated shows. In live-action films, she has been played before by Halle Berry and later by Alexandra Shipp in different versions of the X-Men film series.
The timing of this comment has caught attention because Marvel Studios is building a new direction for mutants inside the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The X-Men are expected to play a bigger role in upcoming films like Avengers: Doomsday, which is helping bring mutant characters back into mainstream superhero stories again.
The ComicBook interview also touched on how actors from House of the Dragon have already started moving into superhero projects. The article mentions that former cast member Milly Alcock has already joined a major DC role as Supergirl, showing how fantasy television actors are often being cast in big comic book franchises.
Even though Antonia’s comment was casual, it reflects a growing trend where actors from fantasy shows are being considered for major superhero roles. Fans online have already started discussing whether she could fit the role of Storm, pointing to her performance in House of the Dragon as proof of her range and screen presence.
At the same time, there is no official casting news from Marvel about Storm or future X-Men projects beyond general development plans. The idea of Antonia playing the character is only a fan suggestion based on her interview comments.
Still, the crossover idea between House of the Dragon and X-Men has caught attention because both franchises are very popular and both are expanding right now. House of the Dragon continues to build its story in Westeros, while Marvel is slowly rebuilding the X-Men for a new era in the MCU.
