‘How I Met Your Mother’ & ‘Rebel Moon’ Actor Convicted of Attempted Murder
Nick Pasqual, an actor known for appearing in How I Met Your Mother and the film Rebel Moon, has been convicted of attempted murder and multiple other charges tied to a violent 2024 attack on his estranged girlfriend, makeup artist Allie Shehorn.
The details come from court records and reporting cited by Entertainment Weekly and other outlets covering the trial.
A jury reached a guilty verdict on all counts after a trial that began on April 27 and concluded this week. Pasqual had pleaded not guilty, but jurors found him responsible for attempted murder, domestic violence-related assault charges, first-degree burglary, and additional counts connected to the case. He is scheduled to be sentenced on June 2 in Los Angeles and could face a life sentence in state prison.
During the trial, Shehorn described the attack in court, saying Pasqual forced his way into her home. “I locked the door and he just started punching holes in that door and broke that open, and I just ran into the bathroom because I thought there’s another lock on that door.” Her testimony was reported by ABC Eyewitness News 7.
Prosecutors said the incident happened in May 2024 at Shehorn’s home in Sunland, California. According to the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office, Pasqual allegedly stabbed her more than 20 times before fleeing the scene. Court documents also stated that he “personally used a knife during the commission of the crime” and caused “great bodily injury under circumstances involving domestic violence.”
Authorities said Shehorn had previously filed a restraining order against Pasqual due to alleged abuse. Reports also stated he had been arrested days before the stabbing on a domestic violence-related charge but was released on bond shortly after. Prosecutors argued that the attack happened only days later.
Shehorn was discovered by a family member and rushed to the hospital in critical condition. She underwent multiple surgeries and spent time in intensive care. Reports from KTLA said she suffered severe injuries to her neck, arms, and abdomen.
Beyond acting, Shehorn is a Hollywood makeup artist with credits including Babylon and Mean Girls, as well as Rebel Moon. She has since returned to work following her recovery.
Pasqual’s conviction marks the end of a trial that drew attention due to both the severity of the attack and his previous acting credits. Sentencing in June will determine how long he will spend in prison.
