How Jacob Elordi Made a Fan’s Day With ‘Wuthering Heights’ and a Sweet Note
Jacob Elordi recently made a routine flight an unforgettable experience for two lucky travelers. The actor, currently starring as Heathcliff in Emerald Fennell’s adaptation of Wuthering Heights, was flying on a Qantas flight on Tuesday, March 3, when a fan spotted him.
Patricia Albassit, who was on the same plane, told Newsweek that she initially couldn’t believe it was really him. “I kind of looked at him, and I was like, is that Jacob? I’m like, I know that guy, but what are the chances?” she said.
During the descent, Albassit worked up the courage to approach Elordi and jokingly asked for a photo, explaining she was having a rough day. Elordi replied with humor, “I’ll take a photo if you give me your Birkin,” sparking a lighthearted exchange. When Albassit apologized for skipping makeup that day, he insisted she looked beautiful and happily posed for the picture.
The real surprise came after the flight landed. Elordi asked Albassit to wait in the terminal, ran to an airport store, and returned with two copies of Wuthering Heights. He personally signed the books for Albassit and her companion, writing to her, “Dear Patricia, I hope the sun comes out for you today. Love Heathcliff.”
Albassit later shared the story on TikTok, calling Elordi “the sweetest human.” The post quickly went viral, racking up thousands of views, with fans flooding the comments with admiration and playful jealousy.
Elordi’s work in Wuthering Heights, which premiered on Valentine’s Day, has further cemented his status as a leading man. Starring alongside Margot Robbie as Catherine Earnshaw, his performance has been a major talking point this year.
The film explores the dark, obsessive nature of the Brontë classic through Fennell’s unique vision, following the duo’s previous collaboration on Saltburn. Beyond this project, Elordi is riding a wave of career success.
He earned his first Academy Award nomination for his role as The Creature in Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein. Critics continue to praise his versatility, noting how easily he moves between brooding period dramas and complex modern characters.
Industry speculation is already swirling about his next moves, including potential involvement in the James Bond franchise. Named one of Hollywood’s most eligible bachelors, the Australian actor remains one of the most sought-after stars in the business, balancing high-profile roles with moments of genuine connection with fans.
