Huge ‘Man of Tomorrow’ Set Leak Reveals Our First Look at Lex Luthor!

Fans have gotten a much better look at Nicholas Hoult’s Lex Luthor thanks to new photos and videos from the set of Man of Tomorrow. The newly surfaced footage shows Hoult wearing Lex Luthor’s famous warsuit while filming scenes for the upcoming DC movie.

The images quickly caught the attention of fans online, especially because the suit appears to be heavily inspired by the version seen in DC Comics. Just days before filming began, director James Gunn shared an official first look at the armor on social media. Now that filming is taking place in public, fans are getting to see how the suit looks in action.

One of the biggest surprises for viewers was how easily Hoult seemed to move while wearing the large armored costume. Many expected the suit to be bulky and difficult to walk around in, but videos from the set showed the actor moving comfortably during filming.

A detail that many fans quickly noticed was the presence of an ARGUS logo on the armor. According to observations shared online, this could suggest some kind of connection between Lex Luthor and the government organization ARGUS in the new DCU. However, no official explanation has been given yet.

Man of Tomorrow will continue the story that began in the 2025 Superman film. That movie introduced Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor and David Corenswet as Superman. The sequel is expected to place even more attention on the relationship between the two longtime rivals.

According to comments previously shared by James Gunn, Lex Luthor will play a much larger role than a typical comic book villain. Gunn explained that the movie focuses heavily on both central characters. He said, “It’s as much a Lex movie as it is a Superman movie. I loved working with Nicholas Hoult. I relate to the character of Lex, sadly. I really wanted to create something extraordinary with the two of them. I just love the script so much.”

Early story details suggest that Superman and Lex Luthor will be forced to work together when a much greater threat appears. That threat is expected to be Brainiac, one of Superman’s most dangerous enemies.

James Gunn has previously described Brainiac as a being driven entirely by intelligence, with no empathy or human emotion. This could create a major conflict with Superman, whose compassion and moral values have always defined the character.

The film will also bring back Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, while Milly Alcock is expected to return as Supergirl. Additional DC characters may also appear as the studio continues expanding its shared universe.

According to information released so far, filming on Man of Tomorrow is expected to continue throughout 2026. The movie is currently scheduled to arrive in theaters in July 2027. For many fans, these new set photos offer the clearest look yet at the next chapter of Superman and Lex Luthor’s story in James Gunn’s growing DC Universe.
