Inside the Action: Anthony Mackie’s Stunt Double Shares Pinewood Training for ‘Avengers: Doomsday’

Anthony Mackie’s stunt double, David Charles Warren III, recently shared some behind-the-scenes footage of stunt training at Pinewood Studios, where the upcoming Marvel movie Avengers: Doomsday is filming.

The footage gives fans a glimpse into the action and preparation going into what promises to be one of the biggest MCU films yet.

Avengers: Doomsday is the fifth installment in the Avengers series and the 39th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, according to information from Marvel Studios and Disney. The movie is produced by Marvel Studios and AGBO and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.

It brings together an enormous cast, including Chris Hemsworth, Vanessa Kirby, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Letitia Wright, Paul Rudd, Wyatt Russell, Tenoch Huerta Mejía, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Simu Liu, Florence Pugh, Kelsey Grammer, Lewis Pullman, Danny Ramirez, Joseph Quinn, David Harbour, Winston Duke, Hannah John-Kamen, Tom Hiddleston, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Alan Cumming, Rebecca Romijn, James Marsden, Channing Tatum, Pedro Pascal, and Robert Downey Jr.

The story features the Avengers teaming up with the Wakandans, the Fantastic Four, the New Avengers, and the X-Men to take on Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr. The film is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo and written by Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely.

Production designer Gavin Bocquet and cinematographer Newton Thomas Sigel have returned to work with the Russos, while costume designer Judianna Makovsky also comes back after her work on previous MCU films.

Filming began on April 28, at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire, England, under the working title Apple Pie 1. In addition to studio work, location filming has been taking place in Bahrain and at Windsor Great Park in England.

Disney has scheduled the release for December 18, 2026, giving the team extra time to complete production. According to sources, filming is expected to last around six months, with Jeffrey Ford handling editing after working on previous MCU projects.

Avengers: Doomsday is part of Phase Six of the MCU and is the first of two new Avengers films. The sequel, titled Secret Wars, is planned for release on December 17, 2027. The Russo brothers have said that Doomsday and Secret Wars are being produced together in a way similar to Infinity War and Endgame, although they will not be filmed back-to-back.

Fans of the MCU can expect action-packed sequences, massive team-ups, and a star-studded cast, with the Russos and Marvel promising that the film will be a major event for the franchise.
