Directed by Tom Gormican, who co-wrote the script with Kevin Etten, the film stars Jack Black and Paul Rudd in leading roles. The story follows Doug (Black) and Griff (Rudd), two friends who venture into the Amazon rainforest to remake their favorite childhood movie.
Things take a deadly turn when a real giant anaconda shows up on the set, turning their comedic adventure into a dangerous fight for survival.

The ensemble cast also includes Selton Mello, Daniela Melchior, Thandiwe Newton, Steve Zahn, Ione Skye, and Ben Lawson. Sony Pictures and Fully Formed Entertainment produced the film, which began principal photography in January in Australia and wrapped in late February.
Jack Black plays Doug McCallister, a wedding videographer, while Paul Rudd takes on the role of Griff, a background actor. Thandiwe Newton, Steve Zahn, and Selton Mello play friends and allies in the adventure, with Daniela Melchior and Ione Skye rounding out the cast.
Anaconda has been in development since 2020, when Columbia Pictures announced the reboot, initially with Evan Daugherty attached to write the screenplay. Casting for the lead roles was finalized in 2024, with additional cast members joining in early 2025.
