Jack Black Shares Honest Thoughts on Tenacious D Coming Back

Jack Black has made it clear that Tenacious D is not coming back anytime soon. In a recent interview in New York City on April 2, he said the band is not working on anything right now.

Many people were expecting better news. Earlier this year, in January, Kyle Gass had hinted that a reunion could happen and even suggested it would be something big. That gave fans hope that the duo might return soon. But Black’s latest comments tell a different story. For now, there are no plans, no songs in progress, and no timeline.

The break between the two goes back to July 2024. During a live show, Gass made a controversial comment about a political assassination attempt. The moment caused a lot of backlash. Soon after, the band stopped their tour, and things went quiet. Black publicly distanced himself from the situation and shifted his focus to his acting work.

Right now, Black is very busy with film projects. He has returned as Bowser in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, which was released on April 1 and is already doing well at the box office. The movie includes a big cast, with names like Chris Pratt, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Keegan-Michael Key.

He is also getting ready for another major project. Production on the next Jumanji movie is expected to begin soon. That film will bring him back together with Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart, continuing a popular series that has already seen huge success.

Because of this packed schedule, it makes sense that music is not his main focus right now. Tenacious D is still an important part of his career, but it is clearly on pause. Fans who were hoping for a quick comeback may need to be patient.
