Jacob Elordi Reflects on His Intimate Scenes With Margot Robbie
Jacob Elordi is sharing new details about what it was really like filming intimate scenes with Margot Robbie for their latest movie. The actor recently spoke to The Sun about working with Robbie on the new film version of Wuthering Heights.
Elordi, who is 28, said there was a natural connection between them on set, but he made it clear that filming romantic scenes is far less glamorous than it looks on screen. According to Elordi, these scenes are very technical and planned out.
He explained to the outlet that intimate moments are treated much like action scenes or dance routines. Everything is choreographed, timed, and carefully controlled. He said the process feels clinical rather than romantic.
The actor shared that lighting and camera placement limit how much the actors can move. Because of that, every position and movement has to be planned ahead of time to make sure it works for the shot.
While talking about a scene where his character is on top of Robbie’s character, Elordi explained that there was very little room to move. He told The Sun that whatever happens in the scene has to stay inside the camera frame and match the lighting setup chosen by the director.
The film was directed by Emerald Fennell and is based on the classic novel by Emily Brontë. The project reportedly had a budget of around 80 million dollars. Since its release on February 13, the movie has earned about 126 million dollars worldwide.
Reviews for the film have been mixed, but many viewers have focused on the performances of Elordi and Robbie. Their on-screen chemistry has been one of the most talked-about parts of the movie.
The supporting cast includes Hong Chau, Shazad Latif, and Ewan Mitchell. The film has also drawn attention for its modern style and bold visuals, which match the tone of Fennell’s earlier work.
Elordi has been keeping busy outside of this project. He appears in Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein, where he plays the monster. He has also finished filming season three of Euphoria, which is expected to return in April after a long break.
Robbie has also stayed in the spotlight. Along with acting, she continues to work as a producer through her company LuckyChap Entertainment. After the success of Barbie, she has been more selective with her roles.
She is also rumored to be working on an Ocean’s Eleven prequel that could reunite her with Ryan Gosling, though no official details have been announced yet. As awards season and film festivals approach, both actors are expected to remain in the spotlight, with Wuthering Heights continuing to spark conversation among audiences.
