Jennifer Aniston and Lisa Kudrow may have wrapped up Friends more than two decades ago, but their friendship is still going strong. The two Emmy-winning actresses recently reunited for a candid conversation with Variety, and their chat was filled with laughter, memories, and even a few emotional moments.

Aniston and Kudrow sat down together to talk about their careers, their famous sitcom, and the projects keeping them busy today. The reunion marked the first time they had seen each other in about a year and a half.

Kudrow explained that she had been focused on working on the third and final season of The Comeback, the HBO comedy she co-created with Michael Patrick King. The actress said the project demanded all of her attention.

While discussing the past, the conversation naturally turned to Friends. Kudrow admitted that for many years she rarely watched the show after it aired. “There were whole episodes that I hadn’t seen,” Kudrow said. “I just couldn’t sit there at home and have anybody walk by seeing me watching a show that I’m in. Because it felt embarrassing to me.”

That eventually changed. Kudrow revealed that she finally watched the series and ended up loving it. “Loved it with all my heart,” she said. “It made me so happy to watch it.” She also praised her former castmates, including Aniston. “You were really good, Jennifer,” Kudrow told her longtime friend.

Aniston reflected on what made Friends such a success and credited the chemistry between the six main stars.

“That was such lightning in a bottle,” Aniston said. “The chemistry of all of us. And the writers played off of us and our relationships, which were truly genuine.” The pair also discussed the possibility of working together again. Kudrow revealed she would happily return to the sitcom format if the right project came along. “I would love to do another one, if anyone wrote a good one,” she said.

That idea quickly led to a fun pitch involving another Friends star. “Can we do you, me and Courteney?” Kudrow asked, referring to Courteney Cox. Aniston immediately liked the idea and replied, “Girlfriends. Let’s pitch it.” The conversation later shifted to artificial intelligence, a topic featured in the upcoming final season of The Comeback. Kudrow said she believes people are still learning how AI will affect entertainment.

“I feel like we’re going to learn a lot about what doesn’t work,” she said. Aniston agreed and admitted that she still has many questions about the rapidly developing technology.

The most emotional moment came when they talked about Stage 24 at Warner Bros., the soundstage where Friends was filmed. Kudrow recently returned to the same stage while filming The Comeback. The memory brought both actresses to tears as they reflected on the end of two important chapters in their careers.

They also shared memories of Kudrow’s son, Julian Stern, who was born during the Friends years and has now appeared in The Comeback. Aniston spoke warmly about him and recalled how he grew up surrounded by laughter on the iconic sitcom set.

More than 20 years after Friends ended, Aniston and Kudrow’s reunion showed that their bond remains as strong as ever. Their conversation was packed with nostalgia, humor, and genuine affection, reminding fans why their friendship has endured long after the cameras stopped rolling.
