Jennifer Lopez and Brett Goldstein Heat Up in “Office Romance” Trailer About Risky Office Love
Netflix has released the first trailer for its new romantic comedy “Office Romance,” bringing Jennifer Lopez back into the genre she is widely known for. The film pairs Lopez with actor Brett Goldstein in a story centered on love, work, and risk.
The movie follows Jackie Cruz, played by Lopez, who is a high-level CEO at a major company. Her life takes an unexpected turn when she becomes involved with Daniel Blanchflower, a new employee played by Goldstein. Their relationship starts in secret and grows even as the pressure of their workplace environment builds around them.
At the heart of the story is a decision the couple makes to stop hiding their feelings and follow what they want, even though it could create serious consequences for their careers.

Director Ol Parker, who spoke about the project to PEOPLE, said the lead actors connected quickly. He explained that even before filming started, their chemistry was clear during an early meeting. He said, “I had lunch with them way before we began, and we just laughed all the way through the lunch, and I was like, ‘Oh, this is gonna go great,”
The film also includes a supporting cast made up of Betty Gilpin, Tony Hale, Amy Sedaris, Edward James Olmos, and Bradley Whitford.
According to the director, this movie has a slightly bolder tone compared to Lopez’s earlier romantic comedies. He said it goes further than what audiences may expect from her past work and that Lopez was comfortable taking on a more daring version of the genre.
Lopez said the script stood out to her right away. She described it as a romantic comedy with a modern feel and stronger humor. In her words, “It is a com rom! It’s a classic romance, with modern, edgier humor,” and she added that it felt fresh and very relevant to today’s audience.
She also shared that she was already busy with other projects but still made time to join the film because she believed in the story and wanted to be part of it.
Goldstein, who also helped write the script with Joe Kelly, said the idea of casting Lopez came early in the writing process. He said, “We started asking ourselves who the best rom-com star is, and without hesitation, we both said JLo,” adding that the role was written with her in mind.
Lopez also spoke about her character, saying Jackie is very focused on her career and not looking for distractions. She explained that while she understands ambition, her own life balance is different from the character she plays.
“Office Romance” is set to premiere on Netflix on June 5.
This film has strong potential because Jennifer Lopez is closely tied to the romantic comedy genre, and pairing her with Brett Goldstein brings something new. The workplace romance angle also adds natural conflict, which can make the story more interesting if handled well.
