Jim Carrey, 64, and Girlfriend Steal the Spotlight at the Glamorous Cesar Awards
Jim Carrey gave fans a rare peek into his private life while being celebrated for his legendary career in Paris. The 64-year-old actor made a special appearance at the César Awards on Thursday, February 26, where he accepted an honorary prize for his work in visual arts and cinema.
During the ceremony, he went public with his longtime girlfriend, Mina, who is often called Minzi. Carrey, who has mostly stayed out of the Hollywood spotlight in recent years to focus on his art, looked happy and relaxed as he walked the red carpet.
Mina, a Los Angeles-based artist and actress, sat with Carrey’s family at the historic L’Olympia theater. In his speech, Carrey was heartfelt and emotional. He surprised the audience by speaking in French for much of it. He took time to thank the people closest to him.
“Thank you to my wonderful family, my daughter Jane, and my grandson Jackson. I love you now and forever,” he said. Then he turned to Mina, “Thank you to my sublime companion, Mina. I love you, Mina.”

The couple was first seen together publicly in February 2022 during a casual date in Los Angeles, but they’ve kept their relationship very private since then, according to multiple media reports.
Carrey also paid tribute to his late father, Percy Joseph Carrey. “He was the funniest man I have ever known,” Jim said. “He taught me the value of love, generosity, and laughter.” Even though Carrey has joked about retiring in the past, his career is still active. Director Michel Gondry, who worked with him on Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, introduced him at the ceremony.
Carrey has also been enjoying success as Dr. Robotnik in the Sonic the Hedgehog films. The third movie recently did very well at the box office, and Sonic the Hedgehog 4 is already scheduled for 2027.
Lately, Carrey has been spending more time in his art studio. He paints and sculpts, and this side of his work was one reason the French Academy chose to honor him. They praised him for exploring new creative paths and showing that he can succeed outside the usual Hollywood system.
There are also rumors that Carrey might join a live-action version of The Jetsons, though he has been careful about which roles he takes. He has said before that he only wants to act in projects that feel special or “written in gold ink.”
For now, Carrey seems happy balancing his art with family life. Fans can see him enjoying time with Mina, Jane, and Jackson while still keeping an eye on his next big acting projects.
